It`s been a looong tine since I`ve been impressed with something from FFG...

Woops, from PP

Although in terms of miniatures I can say the same about FFG

Yup, and in 40K now Old Stoneface himself has a model with rules to summon Cherubael.

When people say these will be limited, what does that mean exactly? I don't really follow WarmaHordes, but some of these look interesting for use elsewhere.

Basically that the entire army will be released, and then they won’t get anything else (or very little) added, unlike the ‘main’/‘real’ etc factions that get added to continually.

The main factions in Warmahordes get new units pretty regularly, but some of the small factions are limited releases meaning Privateer Press won't be adding new models to that faction after release.

So theoretically 5 years from now Khador (a main faction) will still get new warjacks, infantry etc, but limited factions like Cyriss, these Crucible Guard and Grymkin will only have the designs Privateer made when they were released.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

Limited factions are essentially PP's way to expand the game with a brand new army, but in short bursts. They'll get some new stuff at irregular intervals, but won't get regular releases like the prime armies.

This way the limited factions can use new mechanics and features as well as remain balanced, without bloating the game nor having PP slave itself to way too many factions in long term support.

The other aspect is that limited release factions get a large block of their releases in a very short span of time. So its a one-big-release that lets the army get off the ground fast.

The Convergence of Cyriss is an example of their previous limited release faction.

Remembering that the nature of Warmachine means that PP can give a faction a very new twist by just releasing a new warcaster model to lead a force; bringing its own quirks and features which can often change up how the faction plays out under their command.

Really? There are very distinct aesthetic cues between the different factions. They only look alike if you only look at the basic silhouette and ignore all the details that make them look distinct.

The Jacks shown here are the first time I've ever looked at a warjack and had any doubt as to which faction it belonged to, and I'm only a very, very casual follower of the game...

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Ah OK good, thanks folks. I was worried we were talking GW-style "you can only buy these models on the next night of the Blood Moon from out of the back of a van in rural Alabama and then they're gone forever" limited release

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

I'm hoping some kind of c9mbination of infantry and trains work well. Those are the models I'm looking forward to the most

I wish I had the modeling skills to make the trains look like carriers for her 'jacks or as if they were all part of a single railless.

Hey they look interesting and gas warfare is right up my alley.

Too bad PP generally wants a crapton of money for a few clones done in a terrible material and my stores don't carry them anymore because of the discount policy. Dat masks though.

Unless you play the scales will be funky. All the Khador stuff is
on 40mm bases, and the Chosen of Everblight should be on 50mm
bases.

Speaking of bases, how long have they had the filled-in tops? Is that new, or am I just woefully behind?

They don’t, that’s just what their renders look like.

I'm wondering if those are like that because of the renders. I still

Can decide if the double shield tankers are silly or awesome.

Slawsome perhaps...

Interesting Man o'wars, I'm getting some Battletech vibes from that huge shoulder gun on a suit of power armor.

Also guessing we'll see a ton of Sorcha/Samus conversions.

I feel like if you accepted the fact that the world has dudes willing to wear steam powered
armor even though the fluff admits that some men boil alive inside those suits, you're pretty
much right there with these sculpts.

Well, if they aren’t actually usable with Khador, I can pass on them. Nice models though! They fit the overall warmahordes aesthetic far better than whatever the hell grymkin were.

I like that they’re doing these mini armies, it’s a fun way to expand without everything having to just be mercs.

Those new man-o-Wars look excellent, did they say when they’ll be coming out? There’s quite a few of them.

Still hoping they’ll do a faction of (or just add) more minion mini warlocks and their special beasts, I thought they were great! And think of all the crazy beasts you could come up with.

It’ll probably get resculpted with the 2 new lights - they’re the same chassis.

Will Sorscha be plastic, resin or metal? For that matter, will the Rocketmen or Man-O'-Wars be plastic?

According to the soliciation, all of this new stuff including Sorscha, the Officers, and Tankers are a mix of Resin and Metal parts. There's no new MoW kits, so the units are still in plastic. As for the Crucible Guard? PP has done some small base resins recently, but its hard to say. The 10 mans out of Grymkin were plastic as were the piggybacks, but the cav were metal and the 6 man small based unit was resin. I'd not be surprised to see the rocketmen in plastic, but resin might be possible.
