Polling the interests in this new box.

Personally I am not planning to buy it,
and don't plan to get any of the units for myself,
but can appreciate why others might.

The only reason i'm not is because I don't plan to collect those armies any time soon, but I will be watching for cheap Armigers.

So Dakkdakka - do your job - complain about them more and get me a sweet deal before the points change.

I'm going to get at least one. Depending on the Necron Codex, I may pick up a second one.

I like to say I have two armies: Necrons, and Imperium.....

No, I'm not. It looks like a nice deal and I like the models, but I don't have any Admech or Necrons and my pile of shame is large enough that I don't need to be adding any new factions to it.

I don't currently collect AdMech, Imperial Knights or Necrons, but I'd like to collect all of them so I per-ordered a box.

Necrons were pretty far down my list until I read about the Dynasty that can turn itself into light and teleport through walls. That tickled my fancy.

I only got the one box because I wasn't sure about getting multiples of the same things.

I have a Necron army but skip buying it.
Although I’d like to get the Cryptek by eBay.

This is what I'll be doing. Have plenty of Immortals and Warriors.

Just after the fancy new Cryptek

I would get it but sadly the funds I just don't have at the moment. Here is hoping that this is not a limited edition and I can still pick it up next month or so.

Split the box with a an AdMech player.

Need more Immortals and Wraiths and that Cryptek model is FANTASTIC looking.

I don't like Lychguard so I'll convert them to more Immortals or Deathmarks if it's the normal Immortal Sprue

IMO you don't really need to find another person to split the box. eBay is already full of Forgebane preorders for one side only.

You can pick up Admech or Necrons only quite easily (assuming you only wanted the models and not the booklet etc)

By splitting it I got the Necrons for $75 CAD. Lowest I can find on ebay for the Necrons is $100+

The baby knights are a good idea,
and the box contents help me to see more clearly how their product
is supposed to shape the way that factions are assembled
- like in old EPIC with a bunch of stuff all listed on a single card,
we are supposed to collect "cards" and slot them in to given force org charts up to a points limit,
except that in this case the cards are represented by 28ish mm models -
but there is something to complain about.

The baby knight looks like a cross between a cross-dressing dreadnaught and a baby chicken.
The legs are stupidly non-imperial.
Where is the ritual?
Sure, they may be more efficient for running,
but the Empire is not concerned with efficiency.
It is concerned with dominion and glory.
Super heavies should stand firm in the glorious dominion of their blessed weaponry.
All this scouty hunty killy raptor-deadliness is devoid of glory.
Anyways, this is my complaint.
The baby knight looks like heresy.

By the way,
I just saw that a set of two cross-dressing chickens is selling for 105USD on eBay right now.
Considering that the entire box can be had for 30USD more...
heresy for sure.

To me, the legs look like they come from the AdMech Dragoon, with a shrunk down knight body plopped on top. So, it's more an Ad Mech (Mars) design than straight up Imperial (Terran).

Must be your region. I can search ebay right now and find 4 different sellers from UK for 80-90 AUD delivered for Necron half. (RRP for Forgebane is 265AUD)

Went ahead and ordered a box to split with a friend. I play admech and figured the knights will be a decent way to flesh out my army until I can order even more onagers/dakkabots/infiltrators. They look good supporting skitarii and since that's the main focus of my army, I can make good use of the whole admech side. Considering the ranger squad by itself is $40, I see it as $40 for two knights that will be good handicaps for casual play and fun to paint, and yet another dominus I can use for bits and converting techpriests. That's a pretty good deal even if the knights kind of suck rules wise. And hey, if they get good down the road I'm already set.

But still more expensive than what I ended up paying for the Crons.

I'm not planning to buy it. although I think it is super cool that GW is putting out a box set without any Space Marines in it. I'd love to have the Knight Armiger things, but I have no interest in starting an AdMech or Necron army, so it's a hard pass for me. Hopefully they release the Armigers separately so I can get some of them, as I love those models.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

I'm only interested in buying models from armies I can/want to expand tll 4000 points at least. Necrons and Ad Mech are not among those, so no I'll definitely skip the box.

For those one that are interested in these two armies Forgebane is certainly a good deal.

Nope.

Going to wait until they sell the Armigers seperately.

Plenty of grey Ad Mech minis sat on the shelf as is.

Although if the Ad Mech side of the box came up on ebay at a reasonable ££ then I would be tempted.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

House Degallio decals for the Armiger don't exist (they don't exist any more for the larger Knight kit either, but that's a different story :( ) and there's no Horus Heresy rules for these, so I can't add them to House Atrax. I don't want Necrons and already have all the Adeptus Mechanicus models. So. nothing in that box I want at the moment.
