For ages I've been really intrigued by the dark, weird miniatures that others have created for Inq28, Inquisimunda etc. and have been wanting to have a go myself. I managed to pick up a cheap Tech Priest Dominus from the Forgebane box and decided to try to come up with something using that. What I eventually landed on was an Adeptus Ministorum choirmaster with a cybernetic organ on his back. I found the 'blanchitsu' style really difficult to emulate but I've given it a shot at least:

THIS IS AWESOME - please post more of your work - this is probably the best conversion of this model that I have seen

Baron, don't forget to talk about the SEALs and Marines you habitually beat up on 2 and 3 at a time, as you PM'd me about.

I don’t have any other work in this genre to show. This is my first attempt at this sort of style, and I think only my second 40k mini (I painted an Eldrad a couple of years ago). Recently, I’ve been working on some Mordheim minis, which you can see here: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/752587.page

I'm a big fan of your Mordheim Vampire models so it's really cool to see you take a stab at the INQ28 style, which is more of my area. The execution is pretty much flawless, although if I had to offer any constructive criticism I suppose that you could try to distinguish the material of the parchment and the cloth a little bit further. It looks like you've hit the cloth with a bit heavier of a wash than you did on the parchment but you could probably add some more of a yellowish hue to one or the other if you want to visually separate them further.

Thanks. I know it's very easy to say this but in reality it is much easier to tell the parchment and robes apart. I used a pale sort of sickly green in the mix for the robes but you're right that there isn't a lot of differentiation there. I might try to do a very fine glaze on it when I've had a bit of time to think about it.

Very nice. I spent a few moments wondering what base model you'd put the Magos's stovepipe hat on, and then realised it's still the Magos model - you've done a great job of making it look and feel like a completely different model!

Cheers. Yeah, I felt lopping off that mechanical axe arm and adding the ghoul one really made it look different. Also, the face is from the tech-priest, but the hat is actually from the Age of Sigmar Battle Wizards.
