Hi folks,

I've moved near to Ayr recently and I'm looking to play some games. I have 40k, but would also be interested in playing a bit of WMH and maybe Infinity both of which I have some experience with. Can anyone recommend any clubs?

Cheers,

Cas

hey there,

I've only really played in the Games Workshop in Ayr itself and its a good atmosphere and crowd, Apart from that me and a friend occasionally play at either's house usually 40k or Bolt Action but im not sure about places in ayrshire for WMH or Infinity, I think Irvine and Largs has got a decent "Geek Culture" but im not that neck of the woods so not entirely sure if its model based or CCG based

Theres a reasonable sized group in Irvine and Largs. InIrvine you have the North Ayrshire Wargamers club which I attend. There's a healthy mix of most game types including 40k and Warmachine however Infinity is a bit less played. We meet every Sunday from 11 - 5 pm and predominantly play wargames and boardgames however there is a healthy amount of regular RPGs. Card games not so much. You can find more details here:

At Largs you have the Bus Stop Toy Shop store. You might be better checking their Facebook page. I've only been once or twice myself and it was predominantly Card Games and RPGs, it is quite a small shop. You can find out more here:

I think Monday night from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm is their wargaming night.

How did your search go for a gaming club?

I have also moved back you Ayrshire since living down south for a number of years.

Would be interested in if you found war machine players, also wouldn't mind giving AoS a go , would ideally love players that still play old fantasy 8th.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Sorry I haven't been in touch. Not had a chance to investigate any of these yet due to getting married and going on honeymoon. Will be investigating over the next wee while now.

There's Warmachine at the Irvine club. I know there are groups in Kilmarnock and Ayr as well. Ayr has the only local Games Workshop which although small seems lively. There are local gaming groups but I don't know the names of them unfortunately or how to contact them.
