Is there a way to monitor the wait list and see how far down the pecking order you lie?

I think they have previously said that they email everyone on the wait list at the same time if there is an opening. So there is no preference in terms of when you got on.

I got an email yesterday that there was an opening so I got my ticket right away. I am not sure if they have added even more places, or in fact there have been openings in the current format.

I am sure Reece will come back.

Hey gang, sorry I was absent there.

@Bullyboy

Yeah, we don't have the manpower/time to go and email each individual person on the wait list, wait for a reply, then go to the next person when tickets become available as that is obviously a very time consuming process. There are over 300 people on the 40k Champs wait list alone.

I am looking for software to automate the process but haven't found anything yet. So, in the meantime we just ping the entire wait list and then it is first come first served.

@Pepin

See you there!

@Thread

We did indeed have some more 40k champs slots open up. We were holding space for another game system that was hoping to have a big event at the LVO but it looks like we will have to push it back to 2020 which is a bummer, however, it does mean we can fit in some more 40k players as there are so many people still hoping to get a ticket.

So, if you wanted to go but missed out the first and secondopportunities, this is the last chance to get a ticket as physically we can't fit any more tables in the 40k hall.

It's not a ton of extra spots but we're trying to accommodate everyone that wants to come. So, if you were hoping to come and play in the 40k champs at the LVO, now is the time.

Also, we added these very cool commemorative miniature carry trays that you can purchase and pick up at the event! You can get the tray by itself, the commemorative mat by itself or both at a discount to carry your army around at the event! It breaks down for ease of transport and storage, too.

With the new physical area opening up in the hall and the introduction of new spots in the Champs tourney, what is the total size of the Champs bracket going to be? Are you still capping it at 500?

Capping it at 500? Not following you. We passed 500 players quite some time ago.

At the number of players we are looking at we will still end up with 1 undefeated player.

Did you add a round?

No, no need to yet. We will still end up with 1 undefeated player. If we were to grow any further then yeah, it would become a necessity. We're going right up to the edge of what we can allow in 9 rounds.

What I assume he is talking about is the top 8 and if we will expand it to ta top 16.

We're batting around some ideas in that regard as there will likely end up being 10-12 undefeated players after round 6.

We're considering a qualifier round for seeds 5-12 on Saturday evening, but we'll see. It will likely depend on actual attendance at the event.

It is tough to juggle accommodating as many people as possible and working within the time frame we have. We'll figure it out, though.

Just listened to this week's signals. You explained it. 512 = 8 players after 6 rounds. 537 = 8.4. I was originally wondering if the tourney was going to be 600+ people or not, but I got it now.

Got ya, sorry if I confused you. I probably said 512 out of habit. We're already well over 700.

So crazy. We're actually considering hiring someone as a temp to come and work on terrain form now till the LVO to ensure it is up to snuff.

Really excited to see this in action! Going to be incredible.

Bit don't you always lose like, alot of players before the event starts. Will that change anything of undefeated or no?

Yeah, there's always attrition before the event and yes that will influence how many undefeated players there are.

After conferring at length with the team, we decided that we're going to auto-qualify the top 4 spots into the finals and then the remaining undefeated players will play a one round qualifier on Saturday night to determine the seeds 5 through 8.

So, assuming a full turnout, that gives 4 more players the opportunity to make the finals but rewards the top players with an automatic birth.

Should be fun! However, that 4th game Saturday night will be tough so if you think you may qualify be sure to hydrate, eat and keep yourself at a high energy level to get over that hump.

Adepticon has had 4 rounds per day as well. I believe the Champs is 4 rounds, but in the past it used to be 4 rounds all weekend for the Gladiator, Champs and Team Tournament and folks competed for the Iron Man (playing in all 4 rounds in all 3 days).

Yeah, 4 game sin one day is brutal. However, only 8 players will have to do it so not too bad.

The judges are already mentally prepping themselves, haha.

What game time per round? 3h is sensible one for 2k but with 4 games that's like 12 hour + time between games. That's super long. Not my cup of tea for sure.

I had to do something at work today... I wrote this for your montage video.

Packing up, all of my dice
Got my books and my ruler
Printed my list, and I checked the points twice
Just a man and his toy soldier vice

Went to Vegas, I’m at the event
In line behind a mouth breather
Don’t lose your grip, keep your rage in and pent
You must not give him hygiene advice

So many times, it happens too fast
You trade your savings for ForgeWorld
Don’t think about LVOs of the past
You won’t face six Magnus’s this time

It’s the roll of a boxcar, it’s the thrill of the dice
Rising up to the netlist of our rival
And his list is Aeldari and his points are not right
But the judges’ blown calls cannot stop... a roll of boxcar

Lol, I could hear the music in my mind as I read it!

@tneva82

Me either, honestly. However, it is the only fair way to handle it, and it only impacts at most 8 players as stated. If it turns out we don't need the qualifier round due to attrition or tons of ties or whatever, then we'll skip it. However, we're building in the expectation that if you are in places 5 through possibly 12 after round 6, be prepared to play another game. If you're a part of the other 99% of the field that don't fall in that range it's not an issue. So, roughly 1% of the players in the event will be impacted.

Ya'll, only the survivors of the Invitational after 3 rounds have to do 4 in a day (so 4 people). Every other NOVA 40K event is 3 a day or less.

I know, seriously! We only know how to win, especially when playing against miserable West Coasters. Don't worry, more lessons are en route in February! I'll even teach you how to win at craps!

Gentlemen, Gentlemen... There's no need to argue which coast is better when they're both inferior to the midwest.
