Everything you need is right here, buddy: https://www.frontlinegaming.org/2018/12/16/lvo-40k-update/

@Thread

Hey everyone, friendly reminder the deadline to submit your list is this Friday the 25th! Make sure to get that taken care of as you don't want to start the event with a penalty.

Also, the deadline for getting a conversion or model substitution is also this Friday. Don't procrastinate as if you wait to the last minute we may not answer your question in time if it impacts your list.

What about the bolter beta rule. Will that be used at the event?

30k narrative need to pre load lists or will we be changing during the event?

First timer running narrative, sorry.

The rules deadline has already passed.

Yeah, as Crimson Devil stated, we're locked in on rules. And that won't be out officially prior to the event anyway, I think.

@Uriels

I just pinged the TO, will let you know

To confirm, LVO will not be using the deployment rules from any of the CA2018 missions where player A deploys the entire army, then player B deploys, then A goes first. (Like 7th, 6th, etc.)
It is still the I go, you go, I go, you go, +1 to roll. Correct?

Correct. LVO is using the ITC Championships Missions, which have the I go, you go, deployment format.

Right, as John said, we're not using it.

However, loads of folks have asked for it in the ITC feedback form so we're strongly considering it for next season.

I was one of them. It's a lot faster and lets player 2 deploy defensively. Our group heading to LVO seemed to be unable to reach consensus on it last weekend. Thanks for the clarification.

Reecius, I know its not mandatory in the list were uploading to BCP but is it expected to have all relics and psychic powers on our lists be the same for every game, or can they be swapped out between games?

Those are all things that are done at the table, pre-game turn 1, round by round. They can vary from game to game.

Also, Warlord is set in stone, but traits are picked at the table, correct?

where in the BCP uploader were you supposed to dictate your Warlord? I didn't see anything about that and have already submitted my list.

The Warlord is just part of the line for that character. Look at the Ethereal in the example documents (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Y7MR3eBq9VIZ-YmdJ3oxzZQIJMItys4kbWo6CHcyDi4/edit).

With the release of Kill Team: Arena, will the Kill Team tournament be impacted? A while back you mentioned the rules were getting updated, but the link is still referencing the NOVA event from last year. Really just need to know if I should be purchasing the new boxset before LVO.

Also, we've had a change in our media schedule a bit, are there any intrepid AoS enthusiasts out there that would like to help with our stream? It looks like we could be able to stream the entire event (in addition to 40k) but would love some help with it if possible. Email me if interested at: Contact@FrontlineGaming.org

Also, if anyone is trying to reach me via Dakka PM, I haven't read one in like, 5 years so please reach out via email.

As an FYI in case anyone is having similar issues, BCP Player went overnight to showing as No events found (previously it showed the 40k champs) but I was able to upload a list using the weblink that was sent by email instead of the BCP app.

Relogging a couple of times in the app also resolved the issue.

help a newbie out with this whole chess clock thing.

Would the timer be set for the entire game, and if so, how long does each player get? Or is set for each battle round?

Really confused here....this will be my first 40k tourny so in addition to learning the new missions, secondaries etc, this is an extra factor I need to consider.

The clock would be half of the entire game time per player.

The full rules can be found here:

Thanks, Alpharius!

@Bullyboy

Make sure to play at least one game with the clock before coming. It feels weird the first time you do it so you don't want to be figuring it out at the event.

Once you get used to it though, it is so much better.

So how long is it for each player (found that rounds are 2.5 to 3hrs)?

75mins per player or 90mins? I'll try and get a practice round in this weekend or next.

For LVO's 3 hour rounds (180 minutes) it means 90 minutes for each player. This clock starts as soon as the round does, so you need to be clicking back and forth as you deploy.

My experience**:
Course, you have to drag your stuff to your table, set up, your dice box and model tray and all that, and that eats time. I find that I don't start the clock during list swap and explanations either, although, I know my opponent and I should be doing that. I plan to set my personal clock at 85 minutes each, giving a 10 minute pad for both of us for travel to the table, list swap and explanation. Once we roll which zone we're deploying on, I will be clicking on the clock.

One thing, if you and opponent want to take time to look up a rule, call a judge, dispute a LOS or other issue, the clock doesn't stop. Direct out of Reece's mouth (he told me at BAO), only the judges can stop the clock, because your game runs over time.

That won't be an issue in most games, especially once you've lost a game and are out of the hunt.

JUST IN as I'm writing this post:
I'm listening to Signals from the Frontline #624 and Reece mentions that the BCP app will have , no *has* a count down to the round on it! Cool!! (time index 22.30 second mark of the video)
**Totally my opinion subject to a smack and correction from the judges or FLG crew.

So for some reason, BCP didn't register that I sent my list on Tuesday because of the update, so I had to submit it today too. Am I gonna be in trouble at the event?

Rumor has it that Pablo is organizing a Friday morning 'spank machine' for those who are late in submitting. Nothing kinky, just having offenders crawl between the legs of other players, and getting a swat on the behind as you crawl under, the length and number of spanks corresponds to how late you submitted.

So I heard.
