With lists all being in BCP this time do we need a printed copy of our lists and do we need to print out the mission pack or is this provided?
For the champs I mean.

Not a problem if we do but I'd best do it before getting on the plane from cold, wet England

I'm also curious if I'll be able to buy a new genestealer cult codex at the LVO

Yeah, you are required to have a printed list.

Yeah, just bring a physical copy of your list to have in case your phone dies or whatever.

And we're down to the last handful of incorrect lists! Phew, almost there!

I do have to laugh a bit when dealing with someone super pissed at us saying they did it perfectly and checked it 10 times and the program is making a mistake, etc., then I take one glance at their and they added up their points wrong on like half of their units and I just have to laugh a bit, lol.

It is crazy to see how many people do not add up their points right, wow. I always knew there would be a percentage of incorrect lists at any event but I didn't realize to what degree. This tool is going to go miles to making things more accurate and fair for everyone, and will become more user friendly as we go.

Glad to see that you are realizing that the people who were pushing for accountability weren't just a bunch of whiners and actually had legitimate complaints about how tournaments have been run in the past. Seriously, thank you for stepping up and doing what you can so your events are as fair and enjoyable as you can make them for all attendees. I can not even fathom the time and effort you have put in for the community and you deserve all the accolades you receive.

Thanks, that was very nice of you to say!

Honestly though, without the BCP guys largely automating the process, it wouldn't have been possible. But yeah, the way forward with tools like this is just a better gaming experience for everyone.

Oh my! This is one sexy new table and you may get to play on one of them at the LVO!

Nice stuff right there. Did you guys have to print out 400 of your own table mats for the LVO or did you have some older ones lying around?

If your planning on selling some of them after the LVO for a discount instead of letting them sit in a shed for a year I'd be interested in 1 or 2. Probably would wanna pick up 1 or 2 terrain sets as well.

Helping:
During this last Wednesday's podcast, Reece mentioned that they would *not* be selling terrain afterward. No mention either way on FATmats that I recall.

Otherwise, why not just go ahead and buy a whole kit from them wholesale?

It would be a good gift to people at the tourney if they sold the used stuff there at a slight discount, especially since that stuff will be sittingunused for a year.

would also reduce their storage costs for holding all that stuff.

Of course it is their prerogative to keep it all for next year to save time and work for then.

Question then is if the storage cost is higher than doing it all AGAIN next year? I would presume they don't redo everything each year AND that cost of doing those isn't that cheap. Time is money and it takes lots of time to produce that. Long term storage can be rented and price accounted to ticket prices.

Frontline Gaming also has two other GTs, BayAreaOpen this May, and the SoCal Open next fall.

Give the podcast a view / listen. Somewhere in there, the previous sales of terrain, post LVO, was mentioned, but that was for (paraphrasing) "terrain that was okay, but not up to the high standards we want " so said Mr. Raspy voice. <3

And now that they've achieved a high quality, and quantity of terrain, that'll be their inventory for GTs.

**
Again, that's my recollection and not necessarily the views of FLGaming. Disclaimer, blah, blah.

We're not selling any terrain this year, sorry. All of the terrain is new, themed sets of terrain. We only sold terrain in the past off of the tables because it was old and no longer up to standard.

If I had to make all of the terrain for the LVO each year I'd throw myself off of a cliff, lol. We essentially had to make an entire table of terrain for each day of the year this year. This is not something I ever want to have to do again, lol.

Also, lists are live so have at it.

If you spot an illegal list try to reach out to them pronto as they have a very small window to fix it or have a not fun experience at the LVO.

Coming down the home stretch! Only 400 more hills and 200 pieces of area terrain to flock tonight....shoot me....

We do sell mats at the event for a discount though, for anyone interested in snagging a few and saving money!

Completely understandable Reecius. Thanks for the hard work and thanks for the discount on the mats.

I'll be sure to grab one or 2 while im there.

Side note: Forge world has some models out of stock on their Web store so im assuming its because they are bringing a large chunk of stock to the LVO to sell? There was some things I wanted that were out of stock.......

Are stratagems that are used "before the battle," such as "Imperial Commander's Armoury" supposed to be included in lists submitted for this event?

Nope. That's a choice made pre-battle.

That is my understanding. I am asking because an awful lot of people seem to think that information needs to be on their LVO list.

I thought the detachment info needed to be included, but things like additional warlord traits/relics and the like did not. I could easily be wrong but worth checking

Nope. That's a choice made pre-battle.
What Hulksmash said. That can be decided game-by-game.

Jaxor, if I want an add'l relic, say for anti-psycher protection, against my Round 1 opponent, then I can use the extra Relic strategem during deployment, "Before the Battle". If I want, I can use the 3 CP strategem for more relics. If I face necrons Round 2, then I'll skip using that strategem because I won't need that anti-pyscher relic.

The one relic that *is* written on my list is the one that is going to be there for every game, which is called Writ of the Living Muse.

That other, anti-psycher elic is called, "Helm of Spite" and it's red and sez "MAGA" on the side. The fluff is something about making people lose focus and become incoherently angry.
Crap.
Or was it that they become incoherently stupid and easily brain washed?

Now I have to go look that up.

Dumb question (I'm full of them): LVO provides the objectives for each table?

As an aside, anyone put in writing an LVO "checklist" that would be good for first time players?

Actually, a good question. Sometimes there are objectives given away at the door. Sometimes there is no SWAG. One year, there were objectives on the tables and Round 1 winners got to keep them. I'd advise to bring some anyway.

Reece's favorite: chapstick. The casino's AC draws from dry desert air. Use lotion and chapstick prevent you from having the red clown lips by Sunday.
1. Wear comfy, supportive shoes. Your back will thank you.
2. Bring aspirin/Advil. Your back will thank you. You'll be bending over for 9 hours a day. That takes a toll. 'Kids' under 30 years of age might be alright, but the over 40 set should medicate.
3. Drink water. Reece and crew pay through the nose for water, so drink it. There are usually water carafes or coolers here and there. The dry air takes its toll here too.
4. Eat. Pack a small snack. Fruit and protein. Think hiking foods. Every year, there's no food allowed in the venue from outside, except what they actually sell in the LVO area. The hot dogs, chips and fries are okay, but casino $$.

Don't buy food or coffee at Bally's other shops, and try to bring it in as security has always nixed bringing it to the LVO venue, even though it's Bally's stuff. They've got their reasons. In the morning, there's always a line of dudes chugging their coffee and trying to gobble down food. A stash of trail mix on the down low is a good idea for that long stretch from lunch and the last game's finish, 6.5 hours. But again, on the down low.

5. 40k in general:
Bring:
back up dice,
2 tape measures,
other 40k ruler things with the 1 inch, 3 inch spans, pencil/pad of paper
triple check your model count,
have crazy glue (check your current tube to see that it's not plugged up),
print two lists,
a carry tray,
and your rules. If your rules are on your tablet/device, be sure to have it charged up or carry a battery, and the app ready.
6. Actually read the player packet when you get into the venue.
7. Read the other ITC things, the player code of conduct and the terrain explanations.

Have a good game? Write down that player's name or swap phone numbers.
Enjoy the kiddie pool once you lose that first game. I do.
Check out what else is going on, when you can.
Look for a short, runty guy in John Lennon glasses with the Beer-Hammer t-shirt. Buy him a beer.

Just a reminder that we are of course looking to you lovely folks to be our roving reporters when it comes to the Studio Preview. There's always bits mentioned that don't make it to the Warcom pages.

And if you don't? I shall drink heavily, and shout at you.

Unless you're unable to get in. In which case such a response would be entirely disproportionate.

I'm bringing more than that next year. Will work out how many games I'll be playing, and getting a matching amount of the Coins they do at Warhammer World, as a memento for my opponents.
