Subject: [Kickstarter] Verge of War live on August 21, 2018.
This is not just another board game. It may seem so, but in fact, we offer a game that we designed by ourselves. And we invite you to join us!
Verge Of War is not just about playing the game. We want to give you an opportunity to take part in shaping the history of the universe. Verge Of War is a living dynamic space opera that will unfold right in front of your eyes, all the players’ victories and defeats will change the fate of the Galaxy and influence the background of factions.
Verge Of War is a new Sci-Fi wargame with 28mm resin miniatures set in the original Verge Of War Universe.
The opening campaign is dedicated to of the first clash of Human forces and Seit, the race of mighty psionics and insidious intriguers, at the edge of human-inhabited space. The forces of the Human fleet conducted a routine raid against pirates in the sector but discovered that they were not alone in the universe.
We are planning to introduce 10 galactic civilizations as playable factions. God-like Asgar lords, powerful Seit psionics, ambitious Skrags, greedy Eltofa, cunning Kja, merciless Pirates and many others are fighting for dominance in the Galaxy. The "Sword of Athene", a mysterious and terrible weapon hidden in the Forbidden Sector, is the key to power.
Seven Reasons to Play Verge Of War:
"Verge of War" is an original sci-fi space opera. History of the universe spans from the zero years to 2228. After that date the Galaxy’s future is yours to shape.
In total, there are 10 factions in the game – Human Empire, The Seit Civilization, Pirates, The Asgar, The Kja Kingdoms, Eltofa, Rungars, Skrags, Triclons, Arachnids. Each faction has its own history, political structure, physiological characteristics, hierarchy.
All technologies are based on the latest developments and scientific theories to the pleasure of hard Sci-Fi fans.
The game’s plot is constantly in motion due to the active involvement of players via Intelligent Feedback System (IFS). You play and, we record the results and reflect them in the life of the Universe.
Verge Of War is a classical wargame with RPG elements. The game uses six-sided dice, D6. Before the battle begins, your commander chooses skills from three sets that reflect different strategies, doctrines or military specialties. Each set is divided into 10 levels, which reflect the experience and expertise of your commander. A typical game consists of 6 game rounds and takes about 30-90 minutes depending on the size of the armies.
Balanced game mechanics. We are players ourselves and we understand that balancing is critical and difficult to achieve. As a competitive system, Verge of War pursues perfect balance, and numerous tests confirmed that we’ve achieved it.
A brand-new approach to miniatures. The Free Pose Miniature technology brings conversion freedom to a next level. One set provides endless pose options for your heroes. Free Pose technology is the new word in wargames with miniatures that provides you with an opportunity of unrestricted customization.
Would greatly appreciate the word getting spread on this and if you feel it worthy.
Thank you all for kind words, it gives us a lot of energy to continue!
About our miniature size: we want to have a balance between miniature sсale and the convenience of painting and assembling. Is some piont we just follows the trend

Having your minis the size they are is fine but why say they are 28mm scale, which implies that they fit in with 40k, infinity etc when they are not?
Some people won't care about mini size and for those it won't matter what scale you say they are just that they look cool, which they do.
Some will care (like lil old me), check fallen frontiers for an example where this went to kickstarter with the same issue.
if you were someone who cared about mini size (so you can use with what you already have) how would you feel if you bought something labelled as 28mm but when you got it in your hands they weren't?

Before making the minitures we considered the sizes to make miniatures adaptable to any wargame. Our Astroborn infantrymen has the same size as the Primaris space marine on the eyes level, so our miniatures are perfectly adaptable for WH40k.
But we dont want to fool any one so we are giving the exact size of every miniature so you could now what you are buying.

If your regular human models are the same size as Primaris Marines, that's not useful for W40k at all.
You're selling the game as 28mm. If your regular human models are 38mm tall, then it's not a 28mm game. It's a 38mm game.

The best kind of correct.

I am going to give the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to poor translation. It looks like they are representing some of the humans in heavy or power armor which are the ones at 38mm. I'm guessing not "pure humans" but probably modified or genetically modified humans similar to Primaris marines. They list some of the other humans as 35mm, which is roughly 32mm to the eyes which puts it on par with 28 Heroic especially since the scale creep of WH40K.
That said, you will definitely need clear images of comparisons of these miniatures next to other gaming miniatures to give a more accurate representation in my opinion.

They are not regular human, they are our space marines but without geen modification. They are 2.3 meters tall warriors armored in power suit, the pure human, of 1.7m height, miniature will be 32mm high and 29-30mm on eye level.
Its our first kickstarter and a first made wargame, so we just used the skale of popular wargames like WH or Warmachine. Is it important if we say 30mm wargame instead of 28mm?

That makes more sense, but wasn't at all clear from my first read through of the Kickstarter.

Models look great - must be some scale shots somewhere though, aren't many of these figures already available?
Current price structure looks a little weird.... Pirate captain is $30, but available as an add-on for 15? Not sure the digit-art book and poster are worth 15 to everyone, especially with another 6 postage.

Probably more important to have scale shots with other ranges I know they work well with 40k from having them in my hands but the easier you can make it for people to see that the better.

It would be really good to see some of their 'regular humans' next to these super-humans, aliens and, of course, Space Dinosaurs.

One of the pirate miniatures will resemble a standart human model.

But looks interesting enough to follow....
The pirate cantain for 30$ is a beleave box, all strech goals are free in this pledge.
