Newb here, couple questions.
1. Regarding the Helbrute's "Crazed" mechanic.
At the beginning of my shooting phase I wounded the Helbrute (he didn't save) with my Dreadnought.
In my (probably incorrect) interpretation, I activated "Crazed" Helbrute rolled a 6, so I went ahead with the Helbrute's shooting phase etc.
Now, I still had a Character and a squad of Tacticals that hadn't even started their shooting phase.
Was I supposed to wait until ALL my guys did their shooting and then if the Helbrute was still alive I'd do Crazed?
2.
Is Damage, lets say
D6, applied after the opponents saving throw?
Eg. So a "Heavy 1" weapon that wounds, requires the opponent to roll 1 dice to save, they fail, THEN I throw the
D6 and provide damage?
OR
Does the
D6 get thrown BEFORE to see how many Wounds are made and then the opponent has to then roll that many saves?
Im confused. :(
1) The Crazed special rule states that it happens at the end of the phase, not immediately. You also roll to see if it happens at the end of the phase, so you don't get knowledge beforehand that it is going to shoot and thus should focus on killing it.
2) The first one. If a weapon causes
D6 damage, you roll for the damage after you've rolled to wound, but the damage can't spill over. A Heavy 1 weapon that does
D6 damage can only ever kill 1 model, but a Heavy 6 weapon that deals 1 damage can kill 6 one wound models. Weapons with
D6 damage usually come with a low shot count, high strength and good
AP, designed for taking out things like Tanks or Monstrous Creatures.
Example: You wound a Hive Tyrant with a Lascannon. He rolls to see if he passes his Invulnerable Save or not. If he passes, no damage. If he fails, you roll a
D6 and he loses that many wounds.
