Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Just some quick rules I threw together for a friendly game I'm having with a mate, nothing special just a basic transfer from 30k rules to 40k. Let me know if it's too strong, too weak, if I left something out of his rules, if the points are off, etc.

Cheers.

Contemptor-Galatus - 170pts
Galatus Warblade - 50pts
Twin Infernus Destructor - 20pts

240pts total

I would make the Inferno weapon S6 Ap-1, maybe Ap-2. I would also make the shield give him a flat 4++ save, and give the sword a "sweep attack", say S7, make 2 hit rolls per attack?

The two shields interacting is really weird. Once you hit AP-2, you're somehow less durable than to AP-3 because a 5++ Rerollable is strictly better than a 4+.

That's probably a better idea, I basically copied the Telemon twin flamer rules but thinking about it these smaller ones should probably be weaker.

That would make him a lot more versatile than the Achillus but then again the Achillus needs a second profile on it's melee too.
I would also make the shield give him a flat 4++ save

The shield is a direct port from the 30k Dreadnought, with all of the 30k shields giving re-rolls rather than +1 invul. Not sure how FW intend to integrate them into 40k, maybe they will just make them a flat +1 invul.

Is the re-roll really so complex that it should just become a 4++ though?

And in 30k, none of the Dreads have an armor save and saves are all-or-nothing.

Just making it a strict 4++ might be easier, or it can be a 4++ at range and a 3++ in melee.

Wouldn't a 3++ be a bit too much?

Though I can see your point on the 4++.
