For taking a tzeentch detachment I want a deamon prince as my HQ choice and then 3 units of flamerz

My question is can I take the thousand sons deamon prince instead of the 1 from the daemons codex, as the thousand sons deamon prince gets 2 powers

You can, but you will lose your Chaos Daemons detachment bonuses (Including stratagems) because the Thousand Sons Daemon Prince doesn't have the DAEMON Faction Keyword.

You'll also lose your bonus 6" cast from being in a Thousand Sons detachment

And your ability to ignore the multiple Smite rule in Match Play, because that's also from being in a Thousand Sons detachment.

basically what everyone is saying, don't try and mix and match 2 separate factions. You wont get any benefits from either
