Hey folks!

Had a game last night, and wanted to find out what the real answer is. I killed the Space Marine with the Banner of "On a 3+, the model gets to shoot or fight before they die." When I kill this model, will the banner trigger for himself? We figured it was a "chicken or the egg" scenario where it's a question of whether the model is still there or not in order to benefit from its own ability. We said "yes" just to keep the game going, but I was curious if that was the right answer or not.

EDIT: I'm not a Space Marine player, so I don't have the exact wording. However, it's a generic "when a Space Marine dies within X inches" type thing.

Yes, the model holding the banner is within range of it and is a <CHAPTER> unit.

Yes it affects itself becuase when the banner triggers the model is still on the board to check LoS and range
