hi

I played 1 game using assassins but it was a friendly game and my opponent said I wouldn't be able to fit them in my army unless I went unbound.

So I want to know how do I fit 3 or 4 assassins into a space marine army. do they form their own detachment? can they just jump in a space marine detachment? cheers

Vindicare Assassin, Callidus Assassin, Eversor Assassin and Culexus Assassin, Abilities Add the following ability: ‘Execution Force: So long as your Warlord is from the Imperium, you can include this unit in a Vanguard Detachment even if that Detachment contains no HQ units. However, if you do so, that Detachment’s Command Benefits are changed to ‘None’.

Im not quite sure what this means. DOes it mean they form their own detachment but offer no cp benefits etc they are just a detachment with upto the 4 models?

Yes, it's one detachment without HQ and 0CP. You can fit them in an IMPERIUM detachment with space marines if you don't play with the battle brothers beta rule.

In matched play, you have two options.

1) Use an Auxiliary Support Detachment for 1 Assassin and -1CP.

2) As per the errata for Assassins, use a special Vanguard Detachment, for 3-6 Assassins with no HQ and no CP benefit.
