Looking to get back into the game but having a real hard time deciding on what army to pick.

I was hoping fellow Dakkarians could help me out a bit

Does not have to be super tier 1 competitive. Not fussed on the playstyle as well.

I'm looking for an army that:

- Is not a Horde army. (Everytime I see someone play Orks or Nids, I honestly am shocked that they were able to go through painting that many models and removing all the mold lines from those models...)

- Relatively simple in terms of army list building

- IS NOT Space Marines, CSM, Custodes, Grey Knights or Imperial Knights.

Looking to build around 1500pts.

Suggestions greatly appreciated!

Krieg! What a hole...

That leaves you with Tau, everything Eldar, SoB and possibly a Stormtrooper heavy Guard list, you gotta figure out which of thèse you like the most

Sounds like you'd like necrons.

Not a horde, but if you do end up with a lot of models, then they aren't the hardest to paint quickly.
Simple in terms of list building.
- Units only really have one or two builds/weapons, so you wont get choice paralysis like you can do with units that have double digit weapon options and combinations.
They certainly aren't marines, but they are still tanky, which can be nice for someone getting into the game again, as you wont be scooping handfuls of guys off.

The only real advice I can give with those parameters is pick the one you like the look of the most. Any other advice without more to go on won't really be particularly helpful. At least if you pick the one you like the look of the most if you find out you don't like how it plays you'll still have models you like the look of.

your mind

Skitari seems right less boring than necrons tho crons are easiest to paint by far. Else maybe craftworld eldar. Couple start collecting bixes with wraith stuff and you can get 1500pts quick.

A Space Marine army can have over 100 models at 1500pts, while Tyranids could field as few as seven or eight. IIRC.

My point is that while some Factions are generally considered a 'horde' or 'elite', you can build any of them to basically any concept you like, especially so given that you don't appear overly concerned about it being overly competitive.

I play Slaanesh Daemons and am biased, therefore you should play Slaanesh Daemons too.

All 'crimes' should be treasured if they bring you pleasure somehow.

Mixed eldar. All three types. Then you have three small warbands, maybe more if you break down dark eldar into its three bits. Then add to the ones you prefer.

Really though pick the army that interests you most. It’ll help you connect with them and motivate unto paint and collect them.

Go with eldar. They were never bad in the whole history of w40k, and most of the time it is a leg better then what any faction has in a given edition.

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

How about Harlequins? Not many minis and not many choices to choose from. Should make simple list building. Or how about Imperial Knights? Very low model count. Not many units as well so it should be simple list building as well. How they play? I don't have a clue.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I'll second Necrons nice, simple to build a lsit of, easy to paint.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
