Playing a game by myself, SW vs WE's and I can't believe how good Bjorn is. He's killed a fill squad of termies in one turn of combat then killed a daemon prince in one turn of combat and has only lost one wound so far. Bjorn is no longer made of adamantium but is now made of pure cheddar cheese, not even 200 pnts lol. If Kharn doesn't get to him in the game I'm going to do a one vs one duel after the game.

Well we have already had people, not you complaining that the space furries got a weak codex and that they were worse than even vanilla marines.
Atleast you appear to be being honest about the power of the codex.

I wouldn't say that they're worse than Vanilla. I do think they're worse than Blood Angels, though.
the dreadnoughts do expose a flaw in the character rules, though [if Guilliman already didn't]. The point is that they can't be picked out among the troops they're leading, but I think Bjorn, Murderfang, Guilliman, Celestine, etc. would probably be pretty obvious. "BRING DOWN THE BIG ONE!"

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades! |

I think the character rule is only issue when the character of very shooty like a Tau Commander and can do everything it wants to from behind a screen.
It is definitely strong on dreads and gman, though.

Most named characters who don't have options have their wargear paid for in their base price. For example, Arjac Rockfist, Logan Grimnar, Muderfang and Ulrik the Slayer all have their wargear included in their points cost.

I don't think they are. Primaris are a big thing this edition as they give us serious firepower to go with our serious CC units. The stormfang is insane, we have wulfen, we have inceptors we have Bjorn and some serious HQ's like Grimnar without hit sled and Arjac, cyberwolves as single one man units which can give you a gak load of command points. People don't like termies this edition I love them, with the cost of drop pods and rhinos now they make up for being overcost now as they can deep strike, plus 2 wound models are so important for Astartes this edition. More bases are covered now and If you can't make a competitive list with this codex then its that persons fault not the codex in my opinion. Yes there are downsides to the codex like TWC still only really being good for hoards now, Ragnar still doesn't live up to his name and the overcharge price on plasma is still ridiculous steep especially for Primaris where you pay through the teeth for hellblasters and inceptors etc. and a lot of the points are inflated but calling it bad is ridiculous to me.

He basically gets a 5+ FNP. Don't know if they just forgot about the inv or whether they are just going with the FNP. If he gets a ++ he'll be very cheesy.

You honestly think Codex: Slamguinus is better than the Space Wolves codex?
Once people start getting better at countering Slamguinus, the ONLY thing the other Marine chapters will have over Space Wolves is their Scouts. That's literally it.

or if GW nerfs Slamguinius. playing a codex to take advantage of one power unit, be it slamguinius, jet bikes, comissars and conscripts, carries a risk. it might win you a tourny or two, but I'd rather play a codex I can have fun with, do reasonably well at, and not have to worry about massive changes to until the next edition

It is worse then the BA codex at doing the same stuff, no body cares who is second or third best at something. There for they are seen by some as a bad codex. The fact that their best rules are often inconsequential, or make them worse because of the core rules does not help the book. If TWC could go up stairs, move around terrain or at least be half as fast as jump packs people would complain less.

I don't know whether the BA codex is good or not. I'm saying the SW codex is not bad. Wulfen are better than TWC now and they can be faster seeing that you can advance and charge. TWC are now only really good at hordes, they don't have punching power anymore with their 2 attacks, its sucks because I love TWC, far more than Wulfen, I wished they'd kept TWC as good and just nerfed the Wulfen. Not a fan of the models and I prefer Astartes not werewolves, I never likes the idea of Wulfen, I like the ridiculousness of the Wolves but Wulfen are too ridiculous.

Honestly these complaints about ruins are such a non-issue as you can just shoot those. Yeah TWC not being able to JUMP over stuff sucks but that doesn't make them a bad unit.

They were bad if you didn't have a character to tank for them or cast invisibility. Don't let those rose tinted glasses cloud your judgement.

Ok, so lets say you play without area terrain, there is no ruines or buildings. Great now you either play on the bowling bowl ally and the TWC will get shot to bitz before they reach melee, or the terrain is of the Forest and Hills type, that give no cover. Being shot is not even the worse things about beasts&bikes etc. If your main unit can't claim an objective on the second floor of a building, then there is a big with the unit. Being bigger units then a kneeling jumppack slamgiunius is also a problem, a TWC is not going to fit through an area of terrain door or window.
