Does falling (or rather jumping down) cost movement if i was charging a model or just normally moving?

on the other hand Nobz they decided it was in the best interest of ork society that they "Go Green" as such they specifically modified their warbikes to not make giant smoke, dust, grit, clouds. Instead they are all about driving with clean air, one might say their bikes Gak out rainbows.

It "costs" movement, yes. Gravity is not a thing in Kill Team or 40k.

But see p. 43, the Barriers, Gaps and Leaping rule, end of the second paragraph:

"When a model leaps, you do not have to include the vertical distance moved when determining how far the model has moved."

The quoted sentence concludes the section discussing leaping between gaps in terrain--including, explicitly, cases where a model ends up on a lower level. If the drop is 6" or more, the passage specifically invokes the Jumping Down rule--which does not itself say one way or the other whether you count the vertical distance against the model's movement allowance.

Jumping down any vertical distance is free. However, for 6" vertical and above, roll 1d6 plus an additional d6 per full 3" of vertical distance (so e.g. 2d6 at 9"), take each roll separately (do not add the values together) and for each 5+ rolled, take a mortal wound.

See p43.

If you want, you can instead climb down, spending movement for the vertical drop.

RAW, you can only choose to jump down from one level on which you're standing to another below, so you can't climb partway down and then jump the rest.

So for a charge and the height is 5 or less inches I don't have to factor that in and i won't roll for fall damage.
