Everything here is painted to a very high degree- an most enjoyable blog to wander through.

The skeleton warriors really caught my eye!

I am just glad at the actual real pot pourri bias, good work gents.

A slowish start to the month began with painting one of the miniatures from the new Imperium magazine, the Necron Royal Warden. I just wanted to try a little different scheme from my normal silver and purple Necron scheme so I went with teal and orange. Overall I think it is quite striking, the main metal was a mixture of contrast paints over leadbelcher that I could probably never recreate in a month of sundays!

I also painted up half of The Crimson Court for Underworlds(?) but luckily these also fit in my Soulblight Gravelords army. First up is Ennias Curse Born:

I also painted up the main man of the court, Prince Duvalle.

Finally is another addition to my Kruleboyz army, the Rogue Idol from ForgeWorld. This big hunk of resin is on a Knight base so is quite a big fellow, I just had fun with drybrushing, contrast and washes to add different colours and textures to the rocks. Throw on swamp gel and tufts, especially his little wig of grass atop his head (I could not resist) and I am happy with this boy:

The only changes I envision for him are possibly adding some Kruleboyz scareshields to him once more multipart minis are released. I have pre ordered the new Mirebrute Troggoth and Big bow thing so hope to have them in my hands next weekend.

Today is going to be a hobby sort out day, no idea what I will be painting next. Thanks for looking

Glad to see I'm not the only one to do a GSC Baneblade. Nicely done!

I'm especially fond of your Vampire army. That Zombie Dragon is amazing.

I like the new Necron, the green and orange work surprisingly well together. The troll/idol is fantastic too, the variety of colour for what is a bunch of stones is impressive!

Cheers everyone. All told I have not had a prolific month with only 19 miniatures completed (I may get one or 2 done today?) but there are some big pieces in here. So what else have I been up to....spoiler it is all Kruleboyz.

First up is the dull, another 10 Gutrippaz from the AOS Warrior expansion box. Nothing exciting, but they fill out the battleline for the army:

Also part the Warrior set is another Killaboss on foot with Stab Grot. This time I went with the flail option instead of the shield, and also turned the blade on his Boss Hacka (!?!) aroundso it looks a bit different:

Something a bit different is the Beastkilla Kill Bow (or something like that). A nice fun little piece, and its one shot has the potential to do up to 12 points of damage...or more likely miss altogether

Next is one of my favourite models in the range, the Breakaboss On Mirebrute Troggoth. This is such a coolminiature...I think I did it justice overall:

Finally is my favourite miniature in the entire range, Gobsprakk The Mouth Of Mork. So much fun painting him. For once I actually sub assembled and left Gobsprakk himself seperate from the vulture. I just took my time and enjoyed painting this fella:

So all told more than 1300 points of Kruleboyz painted this month, so I am happy with that, And these 19 lads bring me to 278 miniatures painted for the year so far

Thanks for looking.

Cool stuff, the troggoth really is a cool mini, I love the green and blue tones you’ve given him. I really like the yellow shields you’ve gone for too, they brighten up the palette really well

Absolutely wild stuff. AoS really brings it with the over the top models. These look amazing. The death vulture is really a great piece.

@Paradigm, thank you Sir. Then you are in luck...I have another vulture, Mirebrute and Skumdrekk to tackle.

@Boss Salvage:The bases are pretty lazy really, helped a lot by AK Interactive's swamp and water gel and textured base paints.

@Gobert: Yellow is just one of those colours I have always been scared of, but I am happy with how it looks with the pallid green skin and deep brown bases.

@Youwasshock....the wildest thing about the vulture is the price...ouch. But a great kit none the less.

Just a little bit of early progress for October, first up is a minor kitbash to give me an alternate Killaboss on foot with rusty flail. With the Skumdrekk kit you get a vanilla torso for the generic character, so I used that on top of a spare pair of Gutrippa legs and hey presto...a new Killaboss. I added a rock on the base for added height and that was that:

I also finished a second Beast Skewer Killbow. This is an ETB kit with pegs and all, so to give a bit of variation I changed the head to one from the Gutrippa kit and added a narrative to the miniature...all of his grot helpers have been spooked and ran away...reloading may be a bit of an issue now:

I also started work on the Marshcrawla Sloggoth...nothing groundbreaking here:

I had a bit of fun building Skumdrekk as well, his helmet is currently not attached so I can easily paint that lovely face:

I also kitbashed my second Mirebrute, changed the head for the champion one from the gutrippa kit, cut him at the wrist to rotate one of his clubs to a wider angle and added a spiky helmet onto the troll with bits from the Killaboss on vulture kit. I also added a big rock for the base:

And to top it all off an army shot of the 2k plus of painted Kruleboyz I have:

Thank you gents, a little update as we hit the middle of the month.

First up is the Marshcrawla Sloggoth. Initially I was a little intimidated by this miniature but using mainly Contrast it was pretty easy in the end:

I also added a Wight King for my Soulblight Gravelords. One of the early Warhammer Fantasy plastic characters it looks quite basic today, but it is a fun and serviceable sculpt:

This year has been a quiet one for my Lions, so I have tried to rectify that with a couple of characters. First up is the controversial Sgt Castus...he was free to me anyway! I swapped the head with the bare head from the Primais bike Chaplain kit:

I also tracked down the exclusive Captain from Imperium issue 5. A headswap and changing the orientation of the plasma pistol and way he was looking made the sculpt far better for me:

Finally...what else can I say...Kragnos!

Thanks for looking.

Monsters continue to be monstrously good, Kragnos especially, and it's nice to see the Lions back in action too.

The Wight King is still one of my favourite GW characters, I love the simplicity and elegance of those early plastoc heroes. I particularly like the subtle discolouration you've added to the armour and mail.

The shading and highlighting on all are excellent, but the Centaur Lord is really well done. Unbelievable depth in everything from the fur/hair to the stone he stands on- really top notch work!

What else can be said, indeed. Man, you kill it every time. The Marines are beautiful, and the Chaos and Orc monsters are amazingly executed. I can't help but see the Marines as the same individual at different points in his career.. Can't wait to see what is next.

So many great updates, how do you have a 2000+ points painted army already And I'm always amazed to what great effect you are able to use the Contrast line. And nice work on those kitbashes, very subtle but effective.

Thank you everyone, Kragnos was a lot of fun to paint.

@Paradigm: I do feel a bit bad having ignored my Lions, I need to get onto some units next. The colouration of the armour is just mediumed down Skeleton horde. Contrast has been great for me, I am looking forward to giving the Army Painter Speed Paint range a spin when it is released next year.

@Meer-Cat: Thank you. A mix of contrast and dry brushing works wonders.

@YouwasShock: I finished the changes to the Lion Captain and was like "I made the same flipping mini" *slaps head* It was a bit late by then.

@Viterbii: With Kragnos who is the first warscroll in the Orruc Battletome (750 odd points) and the Sloggoth it is probably over 3k now.

@Gwyn chan 'r Gwyll: Thank you, I was happy with it myself as well. Just transition from red through to yellow for an overall fiery look.

Right, am currently painting up a Firstborn Marine Captain and a unit of the multipart Gutrippaz, no idea where I will go after that...but thanks for popping in. The march to 300 continues.

The progress train continues.

First up is another Lion, this time a traditional Space Marine Captain with the lesser seen Combi Grav. Pretty Happy with how he turned out, even if it isan older sculpt.

I also completed a further 10 Gutrippaz, this time from the multi part kit:

I am currently working on Swampboss Skumdrekk, so hope to have him painted up soon. Thanks for looking.

Ton of color on that Captain. Great eyes, too. Those yellow shields are especially striking and work great with the rest of the minis.

I wasn't initially too impressed by the (krulboyz?) orks, but seeing them with your paint work has made me change my mind. Also, excellent work on the captain.
