Agree w/ this. The broadside change in particular jumps out as... kinda nuts. We could be on the precipice of another Tau meta.

I don't think I've ever seen so many point decreases to 1 army before the mono slaanesh daemon army received so many substantial point deductions.

It is actually quite terrifying how over costed everything was in that army, if they had to decrease everything by that much

Dreads and termies went down. Not sure if they’ll be usable yet. Named characters almost all went down. Not sure if they’ll be decent, but Astorath and Lemartes seem alright. Sanguinary Guard going down 3 points thanks to cheap fists is nice; the swords are a crap option and an axe is an option for idiots now. Their stupid unique bolters shouldn’t be more than a point but here we are. Our predators are still trash. Death Company is overpriced, and we still rely on CP to do anything. Like Custodes, we are a bonus detachment for a guard army. Mono faction, we still suck.

I am actually a bit disappointed that the standard Marines didnt go down in points - especially not that Chosen only cost a single point more xD
What really surprised me is that point reduction on Leviathan weapons. A butcher cannon went down 5 points - making my Leviathan 40p cheaper

And with 25p Spawns I can field Harkahn Worldclaimer in an outrider detatchment for some reasonable points.

All in all I am quite pleased

Out of curiosity how do Daemonettes compare in cost to other horde infantry now, i'm only familiar with the cost of cultists, and other daemons.

That seems pretty decent 1pt is quite a huge buff for something already so cheap. I wonder if the drop in points along with the rest of the armies substantial point drop will help it be viable at least at a mid tier level.

I never bought CA2017, can anyone confirm if there were updated Datasheets in that book, or if CA2018 will have any?
One last desperate hope that Tacticals/CSMs will be made decent and that some other units get toned down

2018 has 3 pages of new datasheets - referenced in the leaked pages, but we still don't know what the new sheets are. (Apparently Intercessors are one.)

In what universe is a cultist the same value as a veteran? That doesn't make any sense. The problem with cultists was never the body itself but the synergies and they already pretty much fixed that problem by nerfing ToT.

Considering that we got the same cuts as AM without the price hike on inf so far, i can't complain, heck sentinels look nice, my pet project got improved and chimeras are finally usefull.
Even my csm rhinos got cheaper thanks to the cut on havoc launchers.

Still pay the same for worse models, and our covenants are all crap except for one, its still pretty bad, especially with our devotions stripped.

Some before->after for Adeptus Astartes points would be great. I know, some units are still missing, but we get to calculate some savings in the meantime.

Canditates for new Datasheets are Fleshhounds (as they got a Gorehound now) and Bloodcrushers, as their cost is printed without reason.

It could be a proofreading error and loyalists are supposed to be 28 or vice versa.

Incredible they gained 1 wound... and a squad leader with 1 extra attack, still not worth 40+pts especially with spawn going down to less than 30
