Out curiosity, how good off a printer is needed to make this scenery? Honestly I never really knew I wanted one until now lol

We design the 3D-printable models for entry to mid level FDM printers for the home hobbyist.

So something like a monoprice select min would do it?

Yes, I would recommend a bigger bed, but we do cut all of our models down to they can be printed on smaller beds.

Ok what size of a bed do you recommend?

I can vouch for the monoprice maker select plus 3D, you can usually find coupons online for it. Its amazing. I paid maybe $250 and I printed the entire range of lost island buildings on it. I can link you my instagram account if you want to see some printed and painted.

I would have loved to have backed this one, but will probably just pick up the couple buildings I want when they go up on the site. That sorcerer tower is an awesome mashup of the previous buildings.

I would love some variation in townhomes like that for lost islands

And there is a Prusa MK2 in those pictures, and I did use it to print some larger stuff, but I hated that printer and sold it. These were printed hand in hand with both the prusa and the MonoPrice

Nice work ! Great looking terrain !! And this new KS might tip the scales and drive me to finally get a 3D printer.
What did you not like about the Prusa ?
Also, what resolution (?) did you print at ? I don't see the typical layer striations that have kept me from buying a printer to date.

I printed those at 0.0875 on my Monoprice, I have since gone up to .2 per their sites recommendation and honestly cant tell a difference and print in a considerably shorter time frame... lol @ me

I didnt like the Prusa because it was to smart, it broke alot and needed more attention. It self levels the bed with all these fancy sensors which is cool when it works, until one trips and it just cancels the whole print. It was also alt louder.

I ordered the prusa mk3 so hopefully it does ok, but thanks for posting the builds you did. Always encouraging to see the finished product. How long did it take to print a building, and how much plastic did it take?

Im sure you'll love your printer, most people do, Im pretty sure im a minority.

Depends on the building, I also printed all my stuff at 112% for 32mm scale. I think I was getting 2-3 buildings per $22 roll of filament. I cant comment on time because I printed all my stuff at a needless resolution... but I just did a 32mm scale port House though and it took me, I want to say 4 days ish. depending on the section, it varied from 6 hours to 13 hours and usually I start it after or before work and wake up to it being done.

The Lighthouse I printed at that 0.0875 and I think it took 2 weeks, Im half tempted to print it again and see if its faster

All right, thanks for the info! This is my first trip to this part of the hobby. My brother in law likes to 3d print, so hopefully he helps on a lot of the needless hassle. It seems like such an awesome fun thing for rpgs.

At Printable Scenery we pretty much only use Prusa mk3, best value for money printer with low maintenance. We have 3 going full time and have just gotten another 2.

Hello,
I found the initial elven building (library, shrine, linving hall) really nice, you did a great job on it, but on the other side elven walkways, gloomwood trees, sky port makes too much tree without elven structure for me. I would love to see elven forge, elven stables, elven golem manufacture and so on, sell us dream to all elves and not only wood elves
I have some question about modularity, for sample is it possible to use the small house on the gloomwood eyrie as a standalone, or is there mandatory tree part mixed with it ?
Thanks

Just got some of the stl files and printed a section of the dark caverns. Have to admit, it came out great for my first print. I need to adjust the layering and heat to smooth out the edges but super happy. Thanks for all your hard work!
