When someone quotes another poster you see their quote even if they are on your ignore list. Is it possible to add a feature where those quotes are blocked as well?
I too would like such a feature to be implemented if it’s at all possible. When I put someone on my ignore list it’s because I don’t want to see or hear from them ever again in any capacity. And having to see their posts in the quotes of others completely undermines that. You might as well not have the ignore function at all.
It's pretty much impossible from a technical point of view as it would require some serious rework behind the scenes to go through every quote and blot that out as well. I'm sure there is an official LEGO answer out there.
Could always be worse. You could be a mod and thus, cannot ignore anybody on these boards.
Just spitballing for the navel-gazing joy of it... could quotes be automatically spoilered?
That way if a person is wondering what a given post is replying to, they could open the spoiler tag. And gigantic mega-requotes would also be automatically spoilered.

No. Spoilering all quotes would make the forum an unreadable mess. It's much better to just accept the fact that if you absolutely must avoid any possible chance of seeing someone's posts then you should probably just leave dakka permanently.
There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
Peregrine, I love you. Didn’t you just try to say you had a sense of empathy in another thread? For the pure science of it, mammals don’t find “suck it up or GTFO” to be an empathetic response.
I don’t find spoiler tags to make things more difficult. I dislike the walls or requotes and then searching for the kernels of replies at the end.

As for wall quotes, simply report and we will clean things up, no need to code that into the forums as well when there are more important things that need to get sorted first, like an update to the gallery or the ability to punch people in the throat over TCP/IP.
Anyway, the question has been answered (more or less) so might as well lock this one up as it is going places we'd rather not like it to go.
