Hello all! Preface to my question: Frustratingly, Greenskins have been nerfed and passed-over to the point that not even I want to use them anymore. And now I see they have discontinued the product line anyhow, meaning support for the faction is unlikely (unless they do two big destruction releases side-by-side).

So now that I've played AoS for a bit, I don't mind the Ironjaws new art-direction as much as I used to, and have decided to switch over. My question is: how do Ardboyz play, and will I regret getting them instead of the getting started box with gore-gruntas? I like the look of ardboys most out of all the units, and prefer the idea of lots of boys over gruntas. Despite the economic value of the box, I discovered that I can field an all-around larger army for the extra money of two Ardboys boxes. But I don't want to buy/assemble/paint them if I going to regret it in a few months, y'know? How safe is that investment?

I tend to play in a pretty casual meta, but the whole reason I'm doing this is because greenskins feel like they stand no chance anymore, and it's discouraging me.

In a casual meta I think you'll be fine.

In a competitive meta you'll be disappointed.

In a semi-competitive meta I think you'll be challenged but not overwhelmed.

Ardboyz are pretty solid, both smaller and large blob units are viable.

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Pretty much this, they have the options to chew through hordes of enemies or pump out a silly amount of rending attacks, which can only get better with Megaboss support.

I've stopped running as many brutes in my IJ to really horde up the 'Ard boyz, they make my friends liberators weep with jealousy when they hit with 4 attacks a piece.
