Everyone has that army they hate with a passion burns with the fire of a thousand suns. Lets say for some reason tou were forced to collect and play that army because death isnt an option. What is that army tou so despise and how would you wield it.?

For me, as much as i loathe spahs muhreenz, i would start a black templar force before i ever started tau, so the tau would be mine.
I would field it as a dark federation. Have the species diversity there- kroots, hound, vespids, firewarriors, ethereal. No battlesuits. Gotta draw the line somewhere.

Well considering that it csm that fields the horde better then the actual horde Chaos army i'd like agree with you.

Tau. I've played them a few times when my group did army swaps and I've never enjoyed a game as them. No CC, No psykers and most things don't want to move. Found it to be a boring army.

Imperial Knights. Most boring, unfun army in the game, backed up by horrible aesthetics.

I imagine any games with them would start and end with an apology to my opponent for subjecting him to them.

On so many levels they are bad for 40K.

I feel like they would be so much cooler if they had like hellforged guns and stuff to be Gothic Sci-Fi Daemons instead of ordinary fantasy daemons in a sci-fi setting.

That's a lot of hate for Tau. If you miss CC, feild Farsight Enclaves. At least now.. there's no real drawbacks.

Tau doesn't have to be a gunline (boring), load it up with crisis suits or vehicles and the whole army shifts around on the board.

My favorite army is Tau, my least favorite is a static gunline. That being said, in tournaments I had many more issues playing against Orks, than IG (which was never a problem, just many tended to be boring sit n shoot armies). And Tau can now field boring gunline armies too. I also love CSM and Eldar... but I hate... static gunline armies.

This is a really tough tie between Chaos Daemons and Dark Eldar. I’m not quite sure. Probably the Dark Eldar.

If the truth can destroy it, then it deserves to be destroyed.

Thats because you don't play assault Tau. Theres nothing more beautifull than see a Khorne Chaos Army surprised when you take first turn and they have 2/3 of your army at less than 10" from their army after first turn ,destroying everything with melta shoots.

Well, thats because 40K is fantasy in space. It isn't sci-fi.

Actually, the only army that qualifies as sci-fi is Tau, which is why they don't belong in 40K.

Kudos to you for playing in an interesting fashion at least. I have to say it isn't just their play style that I dislike, its the aesthetic too. If they don't look medieval or possessed by daemons I don't really have an interest in it.

40k is sci fi More precisely, science fantasy. That said, it's still distinct for D&D or Tolkienesque fantasy. The thing is, the otherwise generic fantasy daemons don't have the "in space" dress-up on, and such feel out of place and really boring.

To top it off, they're a mass-melee footslogging army, which is basically the straight opposite of everything I would ever want to play.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Aeldari, fecking can't stand them.

If forced at gun point I would take Ulthwe, have Eldrad and as many psykers as possible. That way they hopefully all peril turn one and blow my own army to the warp with MW nukes so I don't have to play a full game with them.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

Love Tau as you can play them so many ways, much like Guard. I chuckle when I see others who are stuck on the 100% Grim Dark armies.

40k has waaay too many Grim Dark armies to the point where they all look the same. Having Tau, Eldar and such change the look up just enough.

To answer the question - If I was forced to play it would have to be Nids. Playing insect horde was tough the time I owned them......couldn't stand the play style nor the look

Do you think that 40k Daemons should be more bio-mechanical? Like the Soul Grinder but on a smaller scale.

DOOM demons would be better for 40k than the demons we have now, in my opinion. So yeah, more Soul Grinder and Khorne Cybernetic Juggernauts and less Slaanesh chariots.

T'au. I really don't like the Anime aesthetic. There are a few anime shows and movies that I enjoy (Avatar, Dragon Ball Z), but I like them in spite of the animation style. T'au scream that style and concept to me, and I just can't get on board with it. The only reason I've ever fielded T'au was because I was playing a tourney in 6th edition and if you didn't ally in a Riptide you were probably losing. (EDIT: It was my brother-in-law's Riptide, he likes them)
