So the Standard human is 6 feet tall, and the standard primaris is about 8-9 feet tall.
The Baneblade is roughly 3 humans tall, or 6.3m. Or 2 Primaris.
The Landraider is actually SMALLER. 4.11 meters. Or roughly 1.3 Primaris.
How DO PRIMARIS OR EVEN SM DRIVE LAND RAIDERS??? They could barely fit inside Baneblades?

Well, Primaris can't be in a Land Raider, so they don't. Repulsors, on the other hand....

The real answer is that the scale in both 40K lore and on the table is inconsistent at best, or totally ridiculous at worst. I'd try not to analyze it too much. GW just throws out numbers that sounds cool/impressive, but then the realities of modeling make that impossible to translate to the table -

The Primaris are about seven and half feet tall. Also, I really don't think you understand how APCs work, how much headroom you think they usually have?
I am six feet tall, my Renault Clio is less than four and half feet tall. It is crazy, how can Renault company sell such an car, it is obvious that an adult human could never fit in it!

Vehicle scale is not the same as non-vehicle scale on the 40k tabletop, for logistical reasons.

Not true. FW books have 'real world' specs of the vehicles, they match the model scale. Also. most 40K vehicles are larger than their real world equivalents.

If scions are 6 feet tall then Primaris are 8 feet tall, which would be to scale.

So, having ridden in everything from a BMP to a Bradly, I can understand quarters are tight.
Also, Repulsors are, from what I can find on line, roughly the same size as a Baneblade.
So, then the Astraeus has to be even bigger.

Repulsor is the same size as Land Raider, which is about the real world size of Panzer VIII Maus, the biggest tank ever built. Baneblade is bigger.

One thing I wish GW would do is have some kind of digital tool that lets you compare model size, especially for things that are rare or obscure like a lot of FW units. I know it's not necessary but it seems like it be something that be fun to play around with.

You should probably actually take a look at the models you're talking about before before you start making claims about sizes.

The Marines don't drive. They input a destination into the interior control panel and the Land Raider's machine spirit calculates the best route to arrive at the location specified.
Considering the nature of the Imperium, the machine spirit of the Land Raider consists of the skull and brains of former marines (too far gone to entomb into a dreadnought) who have been integrated with Land Raider's automated systems. There is a "marine" that controls each sponson, a "marine" to manipulate the Land Raider's drive mechanism and a final "marine" that co-ordinates and manage the vehicles other subsystems. It is this last "marine" that the occupants interact with, the Land Raider's "commander" provides directions to the remaining "marines".
Note the interior cutaway. I'm not joking.

Is this a new issue? Hasn't this been the case with Warhammer vehicles since like, 1987?
