No worries, John - DS could've been handled better, but there was definite scope creep there.

The games where it looks like they had nailed down the gameplan and road map before they started the KS seem to have been run in a much better fashion.

From what I’ve seen of Steamforged, everything will come out. Eventually. Once it does the quality it a bit of a crap shoot. The majority of their stuff is fine. Their pvc plastics are a bit soft on detail, but I find them general ok. One model from one of the Guild Ball teams was virtually missing a face on initial release though and they had to do a widespread product replacement for that individual model. Their resin that I’ve seen tends to be very crisp, and good QC, but they’re prone to making sculpts with overly thin parts prone to breakage due to the fragility of the resin. They’re great at making artistic sculpts, but have a track record of making sculpts that don’t hold up to being handled all the time for gameplay. Not all of them, but it’s been an issue since their very first Guild Ball models and still cropping up on the newest team and individual new captains. I like their stuff, and I keep buying their products and playing their games, just be aware of what you’re getting into.

How is SFG doing on delivering on Dark Souls, Resident Evil, and their other KS? Are those in backer hands?

Dark Souls has delivered waves 1 & 2, with 3 in the run up to production at the minute, if I remember the last update correctly.

As an addition: They have delivered wave 1&2 but initially, there was only one wave, due in April 2017.
In my books, they are still late in delivering everything and with no end in sight (only Wave 3 in 2019, no Wave 4 of Wave ??)

Resident Evil 2 is the best board game I've played in years, by far. If I cared about Devil May Cry I'd be all over this KS.

Distinct lack of images in this thread!

They've just shared this guy, haven't played DMC so no idea who he is, but I like it!

My guess: A member of Dante's Harem?

I too have not seen the series.

It's the Cavaliere Angelo, one of the boss. But wouldn't be wrong to say it's a member of Dante's Harem....lol

Would be nice if they also include Trish, Lady, and Vergil as characters.

They have to have Vergil. The question is whether he'll have his Devil Trigger forms, and which versions.

Hopefullly big crazy Sin versions.

Although it would be cool to see the Kaneko designs from DMC3 brought to life on the tabletop.

If the miniatures are good and things I care about, I'll definitely be on this. While the Devil Triggers in DMC 5 aren't that good looking, Sin Devil Trigger is amazing and I would back just for that. I just hope they don't make the majority of the box random enemies nobody cares about.

Also, since nobody else posted this:

The main heroes look suitably stylin'. I hope that translates well to the table.

That Devil Trigger pose though... I'm not feeling it. Technically it looks like a nice sculpt job but I'm just not feeling that pose.

Interesting that they won't ship to Puerto Rico, despite PR being a US Territory.

Any word on the status of their giant Horizon Zero Dawn board game kickstarter? Because that project was so large, not sure they could support any other games while finishing that alone.

As someone who knows pretty much nothing about Devil May Cry other than what I’ve read in this thread, is it weird that the Triggers are a kickstarter exclusive?

Resin masters were previewed last week and the pledge manager closes early June so I assume they’re finalizing production for that one.

Kind of but not really. It’s just the temporary power boost mode in the series. It’s cool to have a transformation to go with it but not essential.

well just over a day to go and it's funded, but not by much

but progress is going in the wrong direction although I don't think there is any significant risk of it not funding (especially if KS still prevents you backing out in the last 24 hours if that would cause a project to unfund)

I think the projects problems are a combination of heavy moaning in the comments scaring some off (but not many, I doubt many backers even read the comments),
no stretch goals so far less reason to try and get anybody else to back the project
the pretty awful (IMO) cards and other non mini bits shown in the updates, to my eye they look cheap and nasty (I was a backer but I pulled out because of this as I wasn't just interested in it for the minis)
and heavy pre-launch advertising mopping up a lot of potential backers early

I hadn’t been watching the comments but was quite surprised at the update today. I’m happy with what they presented and have zero desire to wade into whatever cesspool necessitated that response.

SFG haven't been great on communication, have had several stumbles with crowdfunding in the past, and still have a couple undelivered campaigns. There's also the recent investment of £5 million from Ian Livingstone, which we don't know the reason behind - is it a confidence investment, or a bailout for a floundering company whose growing pains are becoming deadly?

fwiw, Here's SFG's £5 million ($6.5M) investment. It's from a private equity firm. Mebbe they're pulling an Asmodee. Foresight manages "£2.9 billion of assets" so £5 million is probably trivial to them. :
http://www.tabletopwire.com/private-equity-firm-invests-6-5-million-in-steamforged-games/
https://www.foresightgroup.eu/news/foresight-invests-5-million-into-manchester-based-games-developer-steamforged-games/
https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/774839.page#10431592

If SFG got $6.5M, I think it would be better spent repairing their reputation, by fulfilling their KS and sending DMC through traditional retail channels (or not releasing it at all). $6.5M sounds like a lot of money, but CMON raises more than that in only two KS. Really, DMC should have pulled in $3M or more, instead of $200K. I'll just wait for retail, thanks.

fwiw, The declining numbers could also be normal behavior for EB pledges. Bloodborne, Solomon Kane, EXO, and Eversomething had similar behavior, although latter campaign backers make it hard to tell.
