Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH. |

Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.

I have two thoughts on this:
1) I'd havr been a lot happier if GW had cut the fluff to a bare minimum and just bundled all the actual rules for all the sub-factions into a single book. The WS supplement only has seven or eight pages that actually matter for playing the game, the UM book is maybe twice that with all the characters. They could have cut a third of the fluff from the base codex and fit all 11 Imperial Marine factions into one book.
2) I love that they gave Marines an advantage for going mono-codex. I wish they'd taken it a step further and said "no doctrines if your army includes two different chapters". (That could still end up in CA at some point, fingers crossed.) I wouldn't be at all opposed to seeing the rest of the factions get a v2 codex with similar incentives for not souping.
Is it foolish to hope? I'd say no.

Funny seeing necrons and orks and guard and chaos and Eldar saying they wish they got the love that marines got. Here I am, a harlequin player, sitting on my 8 unit codex, the most anemic book... In decades?. Every other army basically has 3 to 12 times what we have. GW even straight up lied saying kill team elites was giving new data sheets for entry faction. We got shafted. Also nothing for vigilus. It's a joke, aptly enough.

Halequin should have access to a few of the eldar vehicles as a base units, Its just sad point of GW design for them.
But i think back, and we had massive player bleed out due to inactivity on some, it really was just space marine players buying lots of models and groups of other players complaning they had nothing to be excited about.
Even when something comes, if its not to your liking. It can make it feel even worse knowing there is nothing more for a very long time.
Its sad, and i feel GW has fed into its own marine bubble at times that its at the point where they need to do more and more to keep the marine money coming in :(

Knights is really only 5 units, let's be honest. The rest is just wargear options. And that's being generous making Questoris, Preceptor, and Canis Rex all different units.

I'm just the oppisite I'd have been horrificly dissapointed, I like the fluff and the background, anf frankly if someone doesn't I'm baffled why they waste their time with 40k. the setting is what makes it the game it is. I mean surely you don't play 40k for the rules?

Why not? The rule set doesn't really matter, if it is the only one being played. Or the choice is between w40k and AoS. I didn't want to do wrestling at school, but every other subsection was full. So am doing it the 3ed year now, I didn't pick it and I don't think I even like it, like some people, but to be at school you have to be in a section. I think there are a ton of people that live in places where GW games are the only games, and they care little to no for lore. Some people don't even read in english, why would they want to read books in it, or horrible translations?

I wouldn't say I was forced, but I was asked. Asked my mother, if it is okey, and she told me to ask my therapists, and he said it would be a good idea and break from sports. And then I went and bought the army from a guy at the store. Played a few games, couldn't make the list work, went to polish forum, then 4chan wasn't helpful, and was directed here. Probably a ton of people start like that.

Harlequins are an auxiliary army that barely has enough units to stand on its own feet. You used to be a page in the eldar/dark eldar codices, right now you are basically slightly more developed sisters of silence.
So apples to oranges.

I don't think that's a common way of starting 40k at all. At any rate, if I were you, I would have resold those GK and gotten an army that's actually fun for you to play. On ebay , GK don't go for less than any other army. I still believe that those three models were meant to be Drukhari HQs (Lady Malyz, Lord Sathonis and a DE Avatar) and some sales guy went full satan and forced some designer to put them into their own codex.
I also believe that GW still doesn't know how to do a properly balanced Ynnari army, so they just nerfed them into the ground until the figure it out.

Infinity and X-wing aren't any better than 40k, rules wise. They just replace 40k's huge swingyness with endless tedium. AoS is an incredibly similar game and historical you have to deal with the type of person that plays historicals.
