Now my Ork Kill Team is mostly complete, I'm contemplating starting a second faction.

I'd like to give Heretic Astartes a try. Word Bearers to be more specific (really like their story).
However, since all Hertic Astartes started out as regular Astartes back in the day, I was wondering if I could do two Kill Teams at once: the same faction pre and post Heresy.

I've looking at the right power armoured models but it seems GW no longer sells MKII troops.
They do sell MKIII. Would this be acceptable from a background perspective?
And what about other troops: scouts, terminators, ... do proper models exist for that?
I guess some troop types available now weren't around during or before the Horus Heresy.

Would it be feasible to run a Kill Team like this? Would it be fun to play?
I'm still fairly new to the 40K setting in general so any advice is more than welcome

Yea the lack of Mark II Armour really sucks, as that was the standard during the Great Crusade.

Mark III armour was designed for ship boarding actions, so if your Kill Team board is industrial looking and could double as a starship cargo bay or similar environment then it would be very appropriate!

Mark IV and V armour would be more appropriate for during the Heresy itself.
Horus arranged for the legions loyal to himself to be equipped with the newer armour designs first, so I expect the World Eaters benefitted from that.

Word Bearers, not World Eaters ;-)

So looking at the list, these are my options:
* No Reivers, Vanguard, Eliminators or Intercessors (for obvious reasons)
* Scouts => Recon Marines
* Sternguard ok
* Veteran ok
* Tactical Marines ok

Dont discount the Primaris datasheets so quickly. Nothing says you cant use their stats on a 30k model.

Hmm, maybe their improved stats could be used as "counts as" Gal Vorbak before the Dropsite Massacre?

So Corona got between me and my plans for a new kill team, but now that things are starting to normalise I finally set out to start my (pre-heresy) Word Bearers.
Bought a box of Chaos Space Marine, Mark III Space Marines and Tartaros Terminators, as well as some cultists.
Mark IV Space Marines will be added as well.

The 2019 Annual added some weapon options that weren't available in the core rules.
Autocannons and Missile Launchers for Heretic Astartes (among others).
The Annual only provides points values though. Where can I find the rules for these weapons?

Reaper Autocannon stats can be found in Kill Team: Elites. But I don't know where the Missile Launcher stats are. They should be the same as Adeptus Astartes ML stats however. Look through the datasheets again, does any Heretic Astartes sheet actually allow taking a ML?

The 2019 Annual allows for all weapons that came in the kits available at the time to be used in Kill Team.
This includes the Autocannon and Missile Launchers. These problably come from the Havoc kit so these are upgrades for "regular" Heretic Astartes.

The Reaper Autocannon is also mentioned separately. It's more expensive so I suppose its rules are better.
As you said, the rules from them are in the Elites expansion (which I do own). I don't know what the difference is with "regular" Autocannons though.

I've looked up Heretic Astartes tactics online and I've found a few articles that recommend giving your marines Autocannons, but I want to know if they're any good before I shell out for a box of Havocs

Well, I'm constantly getting my a$$ handed to me by our CSM player's Heavy, who always has an Autocannon, but YMMV as usual. It's quite a good weapon in Kill Team.

But are you absolutely sure you can't find just the weapon bitz you need online? No point in buying a full kit just to get one weapon IMHO

So I've heard, but where can I find its rules?
That is my question

They're not the same as those of the Reaper Autocannon, right?
