But does that mean Cawdor don’t get a full gang in the sense of a main box and specialist box.
If these count for their specialists it’s like some of the other gangs counting the ogres or whatever other boxes came as separate gang rules etc?

We’ll find out Saturday I reckon. But do remember the Ogryns were released when Goliaths were.

That’s what I was thinking, they were just a bonus at the same time.
Though this just feels worded different saying they’re part of Cawdor.
I don’t play them, or any Necromunda to be fair, but just like to see lots released for it.
I’m invested in it in theoretical just not practical.

You can add the Redemptionists to existing Cawdor gangs, or you can make a new one made up entirely of these religious fanatics and spread faith at the end of an exterminator, fire pike, or eviscerator.* And you thought that House Cawdor was difficult to deal with when they were just bringing Bomb Delivery Rats to the party.

Ogryn stuff for instance are Oct usage or whatever (every gang can right?)
Whereas these appear to be their own gang. Or Cawdor.

I’m sure there’ll also be a Cawdor side unit box or whatever.
Have any other House Of books had side gangs in like Goliath/Ogryns?

Definitely getting a full Redemptionist gang. They were my first in original Necromunda.

Looks like equiping the eviscerator means you're automatically an outlaw. Maybe the Enforcers don't like big energised chainsaws that carve up armour like paper

Ogryns are the only extra gang to come from a House Of book. It seems like the Redeptionist box will be the Cawdor expansion box, but can also be used as a pure Redemptionist gang.

Not looking forward for more to be honest. Was expecting the definitive Cawdor book in 2018, not Cawdor book nr 3 in 2021. New players are confused asking on forums all the time, "what book is x in", "what is difference between a gang in all the books", "what books to get" etc. The game is a complete mess and no amount of new stuff is fixing that. I would not be surprised if GW trash everything we got so far and make a new edition next year. And I am heavily invested and play Necromunda for most of my life.

That's a very ugly flamer design, somehow they have scones everywhere but not on the flamer's nozzle, like Pious Vorne.

I'm reading it that you can include Reds in your Cawdor gang, armed with Eviscerators and all, but if you have a gang of ONLY Reds then you'll be outlaws.

So the cops don't mind the Reds too much as long as they've got a veneer of respectability and a Cawdor gang keeping them under nominal control, but a pure Redemptionist crusade is just bad news and must be put down.

Rule 3) Roll dice until one or other of you does something utterly outwith the realms of likelyhood and the entire game devolves into a chain of hilarious unforseen consequences

I'm happy to see the Redemptionists coming, with the option to make a pure Redemptionist gang. This gives me hope (false hope perhaps?) that Ratskins, Scavvies and Spyrers will be released at some point.

I agree though that it would be a shame if Cawdor don't get expanded in the same way that the other houses have been so far. I don't have a Cawdor gang (nor do I ever plan to) but I think they should stand alone just as well as the other Houses.

We'll find out for sure this weekend I guess.

I am honestly shocked that they decided to re-do the Redemptionist, what with the "delicate" subject and all.

I don't think we'll be seeing KKK hats though.

I quite like the model they have revealed, can't wait to see the full kit on saturday. The caged head is a cool idea but that is something that definitely needs to be painted in a sub assembly. It's just the right amount of busy though, glad they don't look too overwhelming to paint.

Last time I read the old fluff the cult of the red redemption had wholly supplanted the previous interpretations of the imperial faiths within Cawdor and that while the redemptionist gangs were officially independent illegal organisations, someone was supplying them…
The way I read it, this is just an explicit restatement of what was previously hinted and hedged for the sake of deniability, i.e. that redemptionist crusades are at least in part directed actions on behalf of House Cawdor.

Whether I like that or not is another matter…

The old fluff also said that Cawdor was part of the Redemption, not the other way around.

House Cawdor are followers of the Cult of Redemption, this hasn't change in the new book.
