New gang will probably be the ash waste looking dudes we saw concept art for.

Sure hope that new orlock sprue has a bolter and heavy bolter as options.

They already ruined Redemptionists, I don't see why they can't do the same for Ratskins or anything else vaguely offensive.

How do Night Goblins get away with it? sneaky little buggers.

I predict flamer, hand flamer, and heavy flamer. Even though Orlock wrecker already have 2 hand flamers.

I would guess that ash waste nomads would need a whole expansion for them to work. And this roadmap only point toward a new gang, so i would be surprised if it was them

The new redemptionists look great. It's probably one of my favourites of the new kits. If you need pointy hats, put pointy hats on them. Not having the pointy hats doesn't somehow obscure who or what they're meant to be. They're nutty fanatics with an obsession with fire. The new kit portrays them as exactly that. So I really don't see how they were "ruined". Bizarre.

My issue with the Redemption models is how limited the sprue is. It seemed like the regular Houses had more variety in their models.

Only 6 models in a box, aesthetic downgrade, goofy dragon ball Z haircuts, no options, monopose as hell.

Meanwhile box of 20 Frostgrave Cultists be like "You know you want me", even the cloth is better sculpted. Or a Cawdor box converted to Redemption.

Really though I just find the faux outrage kind of amusing. Why don't they pull the whole Gloomspite range?

Redemptionists is alright, they got more new weapons than other gang 2.0 box, even the autopistol got a different design instead of just being the same recycled bits like Orlock wrecker and Van Saar goblin.

But in true SG tight budget sprue design philosophy, if they didn't waste space recycled same weapon or grenade bits, they used it on huge decorated piece like robe or sconce for the Redemptionists.

@Goose - Because there’s a difference between just pointy hats and deliberately and obviously using KKK imagery as part of the style. They got away with it in the 90’s because a) 40k was still much more of a parody than it is now and you weren’t supposed to treat the insane zealots of the Imperium (any of them) as “the good guys” and b) being “edgy” was a thing, particularly amongst the young, white, male demographic, that is the core of 40k, and companies didn’t need to care so much about public image outside of their core before social media.

In terms of models, I don’t think they need to do much with GSC, but it would be nice if they could use Necromunda as a back door to get more and better chaos cultists.

There are pointed hats in the Cawdor box, so they could've done it with the Reds, who are even more extreme.

But the problems with the Redemptionist box is the lack of options. It's 3 models with one option per model. That's all the Reds get? That and the terrible heads. They don't need to be the pointy heads, as most Reds had hoods not points. Instead we get DBZ heads.

When others don't like something/don't want to play against someone using models that look like real life racist murders it's "faux outrage," but when you are unhappy with how a model is remade its not just you don't care for it or its not to your taste, but its "ruined" and they will probably "do the same" if they remake another model based on dated ideas racist tropes. And then you trot out your straw man gloom spite gits, insisting their hooded lounge wear is the same as the KKK hooded models victimized by "faux outrage." Why are your strong feelings about toys real but others feelings about normalization of racists and murderers is "faux outrage"?

The Capirote is a symbol of penance for the faithful and only members of the confraternity of penance are allowed to wear them, clearly this is what the theme was based upon across the GW range and has nothing to do with ignorant Americans, edginess, young, white, male demographics (since mexicans, south americans, west africans etc. wear them) or the KKK who likely co opted the Capirote, it pre dates their nation so lets not give them any credence to owning the imagery of the Capirote.

Everything must be seen through a northern american lens, didn't you get the memo?

tut-tut-tut...

Now, a bit more seriously, if anyone coming to Spain during Holy Week would start going "KKK" over the processions would get called, at the very least, an imbecile. Anyone saing it when looking at pictures of processions in Spain would (or at least, should) also be called an imbecile.

Reds and everything else are non-real world entities, though, so I guess anyone projects whatever is closest for them, so guess I get where they're coming from?

Personally, the only time the old Reds looked KKK-ish to me was when some chucklefeth painted them as KKK.

Looks like you're unfortunately out of luck on that...the three pictured are Orlock, Van Saar, and Cawdor.

There seems to be a significant lag time between the "House of" books and their upgrades.

Could well be the case. But as we have the other three upgrades scheduled, and a new gang following them, I’m hoping GW will break the pattern and do one big Delaque release.

I know nothing mind; just hoping.

It was probably the fault of that Cawdor special character tbf. The original version of that not just had a capirote but was adorned with a ton of nooses. Not a good look. There was a lot of outcry and GW got quite badly burned and resculpted it with a new head and about a third as many nooses. After that debacle it’s not surprising the Reds lacked the hats (which were only really worn by deacons anyway).

These weapon packs make me feel like a fool for buying the base gangs early. At least I avoided the rulebook scam.

Bit of a chicken and egg scenario

On the one hand this makes me feel glad that I'm a hobby hoarder; chances are all of the gangs will have plastic weapon packs before I get around to making a single one of my Necromunda miniatures. On the other hand, I most certainly did not avoid said rulebook scam

The only book I don't have is the one from the newest core set.. and I still don't have a clue if that matters or not.

I don't think we could legally call it a Necromunda weapon pack if it didn't include hand flamers.

I think they previewed this set a while back, IIRC.

I wonder what this is referring to.

I think the ignorance here is thinking that general public know what the hell a capriote is and the history of it, other than it’s highly publicised association with the KKK. Hate to Godwin’s the thread, but it’s the same deal as with the swastika, it doesn’t matter how long and noble a history the symbol has, it has been co-opted by a bunch of horrible people and now if you go up to any random person on the street they will only know that usage.

I don’t agree with that co-option, I don’t even necessarily agree that GW needed to change their models, but that it is the reality and it’s foolish not to recognise it.
