The lengths they went through to get a long model onto a 40mm round base. If Nercromunda had oval bases that model could have been more like the art.

The bow is ridiculous because it wouldn't last more than a few moments before the animal ripped it off. Imagine trying to keep a bow tied onto the ankle of even a cat or a dog, let alone something like the beast shown.

Agreed that the sculpt suffers because of the limits imposed by the size of the base.

Unconceivable, yes, and not something some people do everyday to their mascots.

Well colour me surprised!

I'm guessing that a bow would be somewhat simpler to remove though

About the same, as most of those are just a scrunchie with a bow

But honestly, there's a full blown industry out there that makes costumes for mascots. That's nowhere near as ridiculous as most:

The bow is great! Fits the Necromunda level of grim, but ridiculous.

And nothing like the original art. What were they thinking with this one?

Is it bad that I now want a Khimerix in a tux? That last doggo looked so proud of his suit.

I once saw a video of a cat jumping from a high building onto an unsuspecting passer-by, the poor guy fell on the floor stunned. Stunned guy was walking his dog at the time, and the dog jumped at the cat in an attempt to defend its owner. The best part? The doggo was wearing what looked like comfy slippers.

Edit: In an attempt to stay on track, do we know when the Necromunda market place kit is due to be released? It's the kit I'm most looking forward to...

Wow that model is hideous. Why can’t these sculptors produce poses that are the least bit inspired? I mean “ooooh ooooh call on me” in the khimerix classroom just doesn’t work.

My issue with the ribbon is mostly that with all the details they changed from the art, they kept that. I would take the artwork's head over the inclusion of that ribbon that's also in the art.

This frustrates me so much. Not just the concept of this model, but a lot of the produced models suffer from being crammed on to bases that are too small for the model. A lot of these beast that have tales should be on ovals. A lot of the brutes should be on 50mm rather than 40mm bases.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the sculpt. It might just be the paintjob so I'll withhold total judgement till I see it in naked plastic(if it is).

They really should at least add the biker bases to necromunda so we don't get the "compressed" look.

I think they are avoiding oval bases to reduce positioning and movement problems from spinning them.

Last night I had a dream that I met Rick Moranis and he wanted to talk about Necromunda.

Interpret that vision as you will.

I'm not sure why they didn't produce a sculpt more like the awesome illustration. This one isn't bad, but the illustration was SO COOL.

The paint job is awful. It makes it look like different minis photoshopped together, honestly. The utter lack of a transition between the scales and the fur, topped off with no transition between two completely different colors, just makes the model hard to 'read'.

I feel like the hands and the face are the weakest parts of the sculpt. On the illustration, those look weird and alien (like, an actual 'from another planet' alien). On the sculpt, they look weird, but weird like 'human hands on an animal' and 'too many eyes on that panther' weird. Like chaos mutations and not hybrid alien creature, I guess.

I think the thing I really dislike about the ribbon is the size. On the ilustration, the ribbon is a small, fun detail. On this model, it's much bigger and more visually dominant (IMO).

Clearly GW made this model to chase a new market.

It's well known that furries are suspiciously wealthy what with all the OC art they commission. They'd honestly be fools not to tap that market. It's a whale pod if ever there was one.

Yeah no, suspiciously wealthy furries would just commision a 3d sculpt of their 'sona, not buy a random GW sparkledog
