Is that the guy from the piece of art we were debating whether or not represents a miniature?

Not enough Tactical Rocks - which is a surprise, really.

Quite like the male Champion - the female one seems to have a Van Saar Claw and a laspistol/flamer, if I'm reading the model right? For some reason they didn't mention her weapons, while they did for t'other guy.

They look cool, especially the female one. Is there a story with the braid? Are they some sort of prehensile cybertech or just decorative? Are champions typically GW plastic or FW resin?

Hotshot laspistol. I'm guessing the attachment on the bottom is a las-projector.

I'm not very familiar with Van Saar but it seems a bit underwhelming that one of the Champions is armed with just a lasgun. Sure, he's got a scope and a hotshot pack, but it's still just a lasgun. Shouldn't Champions be armed with something a bit more impressive?

On the bright side at least the model can be used as a regular Ganger if we so wish.

There was not only artwork but a leaked image of the one with the beard.

The armament of these two means they'd only be good for an overseer leader that is cheap and lightly armed.

It’s a gubbinz, that I believe glows when working particularly hard.

Thanks. That's definitely not what i was expecting. With a blade looking attachment on one, I figured a cyberponytail or cyberpunk noosphere datajack.

The hotshot mod looks kinda bolted on to me... stapled on anyway. Not as integrated as I would have suspected from a Van Saar. For instance, she has matching shoes and ankle guards. The cyber foot isn't some chonky thing. His pose looks like one from the original box too. The cape is cool - I'd be down for an outer layer/accesory kit after they're done with the weapons kits. Extra armour, cloaks/capes that fit nicely on some of the base models, dangly trophies, extra candles. It's be a weird kit (it is in my head anyway) but it kinda falls in line with that market kit. Can't wait to see more of the ash waste kits.

My first thought when I saw ol' beardo was 'How does he reload that on the fly?'

Not a great fan of either. The pose on the bearded guy looks like the model is falling over. The female looks better in terms of pose, but it looks like Van Saar is becoming more like Borg Queen.

Currently most played: Silent Death, Mars Code Aurora, Battletech, Warcrow and Infinity.

Hotshot upgrades make the reload roll worse, and it loses the Plentiful trait, so that's probably part of it.

I thought that too, then realised that they were massive copper busbars connecting the hotshot pack to the lasgun rather than straps. Whatever you do, do not touch two of them at once. And technology that's actively dangerous to the user? No Van Saar would ever do something like that, surely.

You don't know that for sure until they're out.

Personally, I'm seeing some telltale signs that these models are actually made of cake, and will be released by the Cakes Workshop division (or possibly the Specialist Cakes sub-department).

Because they're candles.

Not models which have a variety of mediums.

Single Champion models also don't have a variety of mediums.
They're always Forgeworld.
