Yeah well I mean I did recently drop 100+ € just to get a OOP Firestorm Redoubt, so this is very subjective.. Guess I don't fancy the marketplace kit enough to buy it any cost? We'll know the rrp by tomorrow night

If it was OOP, was that GW’s RRP though?

I dunno...

The newest AOS terrain seems kinda pricey, for what you get.

$50 for one sprue.

That's not at all representative of GW terrain price, which can be as little as £7 per sprue, depending on the kit.

Theres not many alternatives to plastic terrain outside GW. If there is a thing plastic is good for is for this type of big sprue of terrain. Resin terrain is expensive and heavy and MDF needs a bit of work to hide its wood laser cuts. Im not into paper or card options so dont know much.

What I'm saying is that GW terrain is going to sell well in most cases and since Necromunda needs so much of it, it quickly becomes expensive because you need multiples.
The fact GW Terrain goes OOP means people will buy any of these really fast.

If your doing a small table is well priced but multilevel necromunda can be a dangerous project for sure...

We've done a couple of Necromunda tables at my gaming club using the Mantic Deadzone plastic terrain, but that seems to have crept up in price over the last few years.

True, but this is one of the most recent kits they've released. It probably doesn't help that the terrain is repacked in a getting starting-style set and GW probably wants people to spend a bit more and get that instead

It's not plastic, but MDF so needs a fair bit of work for assembly and then to give it some texture etc depending on your paint style, but the TTCombat industrial hive sets are great and very very very affordable and versatile (in fact, there is so much in the range, it is flat out better than GW terrain on options alone), and seemingly designed for necromunda tiles, card or plastic.

I'm not too familiar with the Necromunda model line. Is there a model of the lady on the cover of the outcasts book?

I think there is talk of more guilds, potentially reimagined spyrers, maybe some outcast gangs like ratskins etc.

I can't imagine GW will stop releasing gangs for Necromunda now.

I thought at least some of the old gangs (Ratskin Renegades, Spyrers, Scavvies, Ashwaste Nomads...) would have been released by now. The way things have gone though it wouldn't surprise me if GW release other things before getting to them though. They certainly don't seem to be in any hurry to reimagine the gangs that already existed.

It completes the classic Clan House gangs. But unless the Book of the Outcast has more than we’ve been told, it doesn’t really approach the old Outlander gangs or the Ash Waste campaign setting.
That is to say; Ratskins and Muties are still missing entirely, and the only pit slaves are the Ogryn servitors. The Ash Waste Nomad raiding party is also absent, and the Orlock Road Gang is only a fluff entry right now, with the other five not even having that much.
And we haven’t even begun to touch on the hidden Spook mining enclaves, which would be a great place to insert the old confrontation era brat gangs; the obscenely wealthy children of the nobles on top of the Spook trade who have never actually been to the Spire but live in little hidden pockets of Spire-like life out in the wastes and deep in the rad-zones, and are mostly unbelievably bored, on top of being stoned out of their minds (literally in some cases).

Well I just now printed my first zone mortalis column for 50c of material so that's a thing.

For the 2017 version I made a full starter set's worth of 3d walls from 20€ in plasticard and some tank bits.

But I'll get 2 markets for sure if the price isn't obnoxious, good product needs to be supported.

Oh, so there are tactics cards hey?

Well I was going to hold off on getting any of this stuff for a while, but if there are tactics cards I guess I'll get that and the book.

No it's not. You used to be able to get an Imperial Sector for the cost of one Sector Imperialis/Mechanicus building.

GW terrain, like everything else they do, has only gone up in price. The main difference between it and their other miniature releases is that sometimes GW terrain just goes OOP without any warning.

Not a big fan of the... spoiler. But it was pretty interesting to see the additions to the gang.

A few were a little fishy, but yeah. Interesting.

These aren't your mom's Delaques...

Agreed. The lore of the nudelaque is ridiculously bad imo. Just weird weird stuff that doesnt seems to fit the 40k setting. To be honest, i think that they went a bit too over the top with the lore of a few of the factions

What's the spoiler being referred to? Can you explain what sort of problem there is with their new lore? I've not seen much beyond the models, Delaque were the ones i was looking forward to the most with the reboot...but then the models for them weren't even slightly similar to their original theme.

Missing a few hired guns (that no-one will ever use) like Old Three Eyes, Sparky, Gunfist, the wingsuit Van Saar or any of the Delaque ones. No Caryatid model either! If they wanted, GW could also release the house-specific terrain features (like the relics, traps and caged heretics) for those that don't fancy converting them.

I can't decide if I want the market or not. The main components look a little flimsy, and I'd want to keep them free-floating/modular, meaning they might get bashed up over time. I think the final decision might come down to whether it's below or above the $50 CAD mark.

When people mourn the loss of the original Delaque "theme" I like to challenge them to describe it without using the words "bald" or "trenchcoat"

They barely had a theme (in terms of visual identity, or the relationship between their appearance and their lore). Something had to be done, and "lithe night creeps" works with their general background.

Well...

Spoiler:
The Delaque are one of Necromunda's original xenos inhabitants that pretty much died out when the planet-spanning oceans dried up. They worshipped Cthulhu The Silent Ones as their gods, and helped them move to underground ocean cities where they now sleep. They also created a gestalt intelligence that the current Delaques are all part of, being linked to it via some weird dream thing.

Basically someone really loves Lovecraft and Dark City and took it a bit too far.

Nothing wrong with loving Lovecraft's work, just don't follow his cat naming preferences.

They doubled down on Lovecraft for Delaque and I'm fine with that.

But then they brassed...

I like them as I am currently painting up some reg gangers and the creepy stuff.

Can't wait for the market & outcasts

It’s everything we’ve seen previewed certainly, perhaps barring a couple of FW bits?

We know at least Delaque have a weapons and heads kit in the pipeline and hopefully we won’t be waiting too much longer.

What comes after? We can only speculate. But I’m confident there will be more.
