I'm not too familiar with the Necromunda model line. Is there a model of the lady on the cover of the outcasts book?

Nothing wrong with loving Lovecraft's work, just don't follow his cat naming preferences.

Or try to add it to fething everything, you know. It's ubicuous enought already.

So regular gang price for the gang, 40k codex price band (€37.50) for the market? Pretty good. I mean, the market is probably just two copies of one sprue, so half the contents of a zone mortalis stairs box which is €50, but the market has more meat on it I feel. Hur.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

I reckon the Hive Scum kit might be 3 half size sprues.

Yep 3 copies of a half sprue rather than 2 of a full size. Less plastic overall but two extra bodies. Of course a main game unit would have a double sprue with 10 unique sculpts and 20+ guns on it for the same cost.

£58 spend for me then. Less as I’ll probably get my gubbins from Element. Other online FLGS are available.

Every time I paint up a mob of cultists or guardsmen I tell myself I'm never doing another rifleman hoard again.

But those outcasts are really tempting.

What's the spoiler being referred to? Can you explain what sort of problem there is with their new lore? I've not seen much beyond the models, Delaque were the ones i was looking forward to the most with the reboot...but then the models for them weren't even slightly similar to their original theme.
Well...
Basically someone really loves Lovecraft and Dark City and took it a bit too far.

They cribbed ideas from HP Lovecraft's The Shadow over Innsmouth and the movie Dark City, but made it too obvious.

Blatantly ripping off (cribbing) other people’s ideas is kinda GW’s thing.

So, pretty much standard for big companies.

I'm looking forward to seeing the artwork of Ashwood Stranger (outcast leader)

Maybe it's a preview of how the Ashwaste will look like?

This will be immensely helpful as I'm working on an Ashe Wastes board right now.

I'm very pleased at the market kit price, was hoping the outcasts were cheaper but not suprised.

I know people like cribbing GW where they can, but people do know that Lovecraft is public domain right?

What does it matter? Yes, in this case that's technically true. But not in the case of most of the othet stuff they pblatantly copy, like Conan (darkoath barbarians) or Predator (Catachan colonel), just to give two examples.

So... yeah, still applicable.

So? The rights are property of Conan Properties International and Cabinet Entertainment.

Outcast sprue from yaktribe - it's been around for a while so I'm not sure it's been posted here before?

But to be fair we've had a lot of chatter lately, posts get missed.

Yes and no. His copyrights are contentious, and it's unclear if they're public domain or owned by Arkham House, due to his heirs gifting the copyrights to them. ATM anything made before 1925 is public domain, though the moment Mickey Mouse is in danger of entering the public domain, they'll suddenly extend it.

The classic design of fantasy barbarians is purest and timeless popculture, every 1980s barbarian B-Movie uses that design...

It's always been contentious because Lovecraft never put most of his copyrights to will for his heirs despite putting it in his letters. I was more saying at the time though of all the things to poke GW for, equating Lovecraft to stealing as if someone takin from GW is equal is.. not the greatest measurement given how many people have just made games with Cthulhu and all that that aren't the heirs of lovecraft without even trying to make their own spin on it.

Spoiler:

I count:

4 bodies
2 shotguns (one sawed off)
2 rifles
4 close combat weapons
3 pistols (4 if you count the shotguns)
8 heads

So an IG or autogun cultist unit would be hard out of the box. A pistol/CC unit is doable. Of course if you have enough bits anything is possible.

OK, much as we all love a good 'Gee Dubya stealed all there ideas!' thread I think it is a discussion better suited for another thread.
