Pretty much as the title says, the FW resin baneblades were Mars and Lucius pattern tanks, so does the plastic baneblade have an official world pattern to go with it? I’ve been curious and none of the books I have mention anything.

Yeah it seems to be, at first I thought that was for the resin/plastic hybrid specifically but the Forgeworld website mentions it being related to the hull for the Stormblade description. Nice catch and thanks for the response!

It's not Arkurian, that is as suspected the resin/plastic version. The most notable features are the large, single rear fuel tanks and the bipod for the Shadowsword's main gun. Looking through my IA1:2E it has that pattern listed as Arkurian on all the colour and tech spec pages.

The Mars pattern is the old full-resin version. The Lucius pattern looks extremely similar, the only difference I can easily spot is an extra hatch on the engine top.

I actually don't think that the plastic version is ever named. All I can find are references to "counterfeit baneblades", produced on worlds that don't have access to the official licences. I'm guessing this is what the mass-produced plastic variant is supposed to represent. So just call it whatever you like, it is the pattern that is locally produced by your army. Maybe it has slightly different armour layout, comms, weapons or whatver. Different enough to be its own variant. You know how touchy the Mechanicus is about that sort of thing. I mean the Lucius is basically a Mars with a slightly inferior chemical composition to its armour.

I’m sure you will notice the difference when a Mars tech priest take a full resin Mars pattern baneblade and smack you across the face, after they have done the same with a Lucius pattern baneblade made of plastic/resin combination.
