Not only are we not getting a book, but all signs point to our only named character being imperium only.

I can't think of how GW could feth us harder. I thought our codex release was bad, but I can't take another hit like this...

Sounds like Harlequins get new rules like everyone else, but get to pay £5 for them instead of £20?

Granted GW masked the offer a little - £50 vouchers giving you an extra £5 to spend - which is 10%.

It's only a 9% discount. You spend £50 and get £55. 5/55 is 9%. If it were a 10% discount it would be £45 for £50.

Hey we could save even more money if they released the new rules on recycled printer paper! YEAH! That's the ticket!

No. It screams low effort. It screams afterthought. It's deafening. We're a stepping stool to help sisters shine brighter.

How do you know how much effort went into it? They maybe did all the ground work and realised they had 1 books too many content in light of a frozen release schedule, so now have to redistribute the stuff in white dwarf.

Such an overreaction to being told your rules are due soon and in a cheaper format...

Just because his release is with pariah and he can be fielded with Ephrael doesn’t mean he can’t be fielded with harlequins... however I’m fairly certain harlies and death watch wont be receiving any new models. Which is a shame because it really wouldn’t have been hard to include deathwatch in pariah vs necrons. Or harlequins in war of spider.

Did ynnari ever get a PA book?

I need GW to stop being an awful company. I don't see how you can expect harlequin players to be happy with this. We got fethed in our codex. We got fethed in vigilus. We got fethed in psychic awakening. Why the hell are we even an army? If GW hates us so much just squat us already. Quit yanking us around. "Eh? Maybe you'll get something this time? Eh? You excited?.. SYKE!.. Heheh.. Okay okay I kid. Next time you'll REALLY get something... hehe."

And don't give me this "harlies don't get support because they don't sell well." GW releases like a dozen new models every week for things that have no proof to be profitable. Warbands, necromunda, lotr, sisters. Don't sit here and tell me GW can't release a couple new models bumping our massive 8 unit codex to a gargantuan game-breaking 10 units.

Jesus why do I collect this fething army...

Here's a crazy thought - if you want to show GW how displeased you are about the way they've handled these previews, in two weeks, don't watch.

Seriously.

If their stream numbers go from 35,000 to 0, they might actually figure out that they messed something up, and it might convince them not to do it again.

Never cry wolf and all that.

I completely agree with Porcupine here, it's low effort.

It's only cheaper if you simply collect the one army. I have Deathwatch, Harlequins (among others) and was interested in the Pariah book for the Harlie character and Stern. So now, I'll be buying a $40 and 2 $10 magazines, instead of a single $40 book that could probably have had all of the remaining factions within. Sounds like a super deal to me!

Obviously their plans have changed since the initial concept, and I wonder if they are rushing to wrap up PA to get 9th edition out? Either way, the series has been a dud. It was touted as having earth shattering events int he 40K Universe and storyline, and it's basically just been about a few army updates and adding more bloat.
It's a shame, the fluff drives the game for me (otherwise I would not play 40K at all), and PA had initial promise, but has basically been let down after let down.

This is what I did after last week's disappointing show. If you wanna find out about the new stuff announced, you can check up on it once everything has been shown. It also lets you read it all at your own pace rather than waiting for every little thing to be released piecemeal.

Do you know what slice of the playerbase plays harlequins? They wouldn't even notice.

I think you need to take a step away from the internet for a bit, it's not great that they haven't had many new models but plenty of factions haven't either. Harlies units see use at top end play still, they still have bite but as part of an aeldari army.

Harlies are getting something, lazy would be saying they had a fluff piece in pa1 and calling them done.

Would'a been a great opportunity to re-introduce the concept of a "Great Harlequin" as a new HQ choice. Single clam-pack release, or go hog-wild and release it in a small box with a couple of options, including a Special Character build.

But no. Off to White Dwarf with you!!!

IMHO, Harlies are an excellent army for the few units they have. Compared to Craftworlds, their Masques, Strategems, Relics and Warlord Traits are better, and more useful. They just need a few new models to make them varied, but there aren't a lot of viable options for them in reality.
A new character, sure.....maybe the Shadowseer that started the PA series by talking to the Inquisitor. maybe a master on Skyweaver, that would be good. Or a Great Harlequin that doesn't require 2CP to just reroll 1s to hit.
Unit wise, no....not when many other armies are still way behind on plastic units. People talk about mimes, so that is an option, but they still are a limited army that function quite well with what they have.

I just don't like the bait and switch that PA has been so far.

I also find it amusing that Deathwatch, being anti-xenos and Imperium, will be able to use the harlequin character in their army....but not Harlequins, lol
I'm glad that the Pariah model is being released, even if it can't be played by harlies (how's that for a laugh from Cegorach!)

It was a White Dwarf Re-print with the added rule, that no Ynnari under any circumstances would ever be allowed to use any of the other rules printed in this EUR 30 / USD 40 book you just bought.

Oh, and it had a bunch of narrative missions and story about Jain Zar and Lelith joining the Ynnari and teaming up with Yvraine against all the new Slaanesh Daemons, except the rules explicitly didn't allow you to ever use Jain Zar or Lelith in a Ynnari army (not even in the narrative missions).

Lol.

I've heard the plastic giant called many things, but "small"? That's a new one. I think it's a perfectly reasonable size.

Reasonable for the time, yes. (Though even then, there was a lot of crap about how it was too small and the FW giant had a market) Given that this is going to be a new army, and the current design philosophy in GW is models really need to be knight sized (and the storybook pictures back this up), he's going to be an absolute runt.

And frankly the kit doesn't hold up anymore to modern standards of detail & etc.

I think them making an entire army of knight-sized gargant models is a terrible idea, but I'm sure those would sell to people with differing views.

I don't disagree with you on that score, but since they're advertising the army as 'nothing but gargants,' the bottom line says to me that they're going to be knight-sized models at $170+, especially since knight-only armies were a popular thing (and meta-breaking for a while).

As such, the current giant is going to be a weird runt.

Descent? I thought she was going super saiyan.

If she's just falling, there isn't any reason for the building foundation to be falling apart before she gets there.

Dragonball powerup- the 'building' is clearly bursting apart while she isn't on the ground, so she isn't falling. She's doing an anime powerup.
