I will say my luck with GW preorders is pretty rough. Last time I preordered off GW main I didn't get my stuff until the following Friday.

I got a shipment notification with a tracking number for FedEx, but on Fedex's website it just says 'label created' so as far as I know my box hasn't gone out the door yet, meaning I'm probably looking at Tuesday or Wednesday at the earliest.

The app is out on Google Play now.

Somewhat amusingly, the Core Rules link just opens a Google Drive document in the browser.

No army builder.

Everything else is paywalled, so not much else to test.

I can't even pay to subscribe to the app because there is a bug in the state field that doesn't take it for some reason.

You're not missing much. Everything's behind a paywall except the core rules, which seem to be trying to link to a Google doc but all I get is a blank screen.

My expectations for the app were extremely low. Somehow GW have managed to create something worse than expected.

When they quality controll as bad as they do with dexes, do you honestly think they'd do a better job with programms?

The core rules link works fine for me. I like that the codexes are split out by datasheets, detachments, stratagems, warlord traits, etc.

It's also dawned on me as a non-subscriber that the app serves literally no purpose for me until I buy a 9th ed book.

Don't worry, if the app is a broken piece of junk that's not a high priority, but if it won't take your money, you can bet GW will be on the case STAT.

I wonder how many of the objective markers and coins were made, everyone I know that pre-ordered from GW also got the voucher (only 3 people, but still). I ordered from LGS but have to admit I was tempted to go with GW for the 'freebies' that may not have existed in the quantities expected. I guess eBay will determine the actual value of those.

Blimey, I did expect the app to be a bit better than the core rules just being a PDF that's barely readable on a mobile served from literally Google Drive.

This seems to be a very poor, rushed product for the price.

App is working fine for me, Core rules just being a PDF is a bit lazy.

Like the way the codexes and rules in there are laid out though. I imagine they'll do that with the core rules down the line.

Subscribed to the app okay. Filling out my address was fiddly (It was caps sensitive, and apparently the last 2 letters in a post code are meant to be lower case. Who knew) but I got in.

Looks pretty cool. £4 for all the rules currently available is an okay price, considering I'm unlikely to continue my subscription.

Annoyed they haven't got the army builder yet but I can live with that.

My biggest concern is that they haven't included the power levels for units. Seeing as power level is integral for lots of rules this seems a silly oversight.

@Drakheart: I like that they think an evening dispatch may get to you by Saturday, I live in Coventry about 40 odd miles from Nottingham and would not put any money on it reaching me by Saturday if it leaves them this evening.

Glad that you are not perturbed by the voucher offer, think I would prefer that too. It seems like a fair way to deal with the allocation oversight.

There are no links, all rules are on the data sheets. So each marine sheet contains the full rules for bolter discipline, combat doctrines,....

Finally got subscribed, and I am liking it quite a lot.

I'm just going through the Necron stuff right now, but everything is really well organized and easy to reference.

It also seems to have all the books from 8th, including vigilus and PAs. I thought it was just going to be the dexes with the subscription.

The PA stuff could be better organized. Right now it's different lists, but stuff like the staratgems are just alphabetic order.

So far I like it for the most part, I'll keep looking through.

Ouch, this is a rough product roughly presented.

It could have probably been presented a bit easier, but it's actually pretty easy to just scroll and reference the rules.
