Honestly, that sounds like what the article system is for. You get all the collected information on the front page of the article, where it's easy to refer to, while also getting a comment thread for living discussion. And maybe that's just the solution. Create an article for each faction instead of a sub-forum.

I kind of agree, and I think that's a separate issue that should get tackled. Most 40k reddits have pretty strict rules on providing a summary/intentions/context with the army list or else the thread gets removed. While I think the standardized thread titles is really good, I think the forum needs more guidance in the stickied thread to facilitate better discussions.

That's a terrible solution. You would be burying the whole thing in a place where no new player would ever find it, eventually causing it to die. The article feature is a relic from different times, bloated with obsolete articles where it's impossible to find something of value unless you use google to search it for very specific things. There is a reason why it's almost unused.

The whole reason why megathreads are as active as they are is because they are in an exposed position and people keep joining the discussion.
You'd probably have higher chances of the ork community staying alive by creating the whole thing on a different forum than in dakka's article section.
