Hi everybody,

I'd like to expand my rough/death rider range a bit more and got my hands on some Saurus mounts from Age of Sigmar. As my army has a tribal theme I would like to put some fitting riders on them, which do not wear uniform trousers. I might have to kitbash them, but if there were some ready leg-bits or even nice tribal (african, asian or native american) minis that fit 28mm scale I would appreciate it.

I am aware of the rider legs from Madrobot and Victoria Miniatures, but both companies produce their legs uniformed, so that won't really work for me. Does anybody know of some fitting parts/minis? Maybe some mounted Sioux or Cherokee or so?

Warlord games have a stupidly large range of historical 28mm minis and I've definitely seen some Native American cavalry etc. They seem to be mainly metal but they do a wide variety of plastic kits so you may have some luck.
If you can't find anything in the "tribal" theme, they do armies from Roman era too so, again, might be some easier kit bashes there.

Thanks for the tip, Crispinius,

I searched the Roman category on Warlord games a bit and while I did not find what I was looking for there, it led me to Victrix. And I think they have just what I had in mind:

Just leaving that here for the next user searching something similar.
They have bare legs, are made from plastic and have a northern african look

Just be aware that Victrix are a lot more truescale than GW (ie. skinny) so might not mesh well with parts from other companies, or look right next other models etc.

thanks for the warning. Luckily it's less of a problem for me, as I already have some true scale minis and even some pigmies in my force. So everythin is mixed to a degree that it looks like it is intended that way.
And in this specific case, as they will have to replace the AoS Seraphon on the sauros cavalry "skinny" might be just right.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

While those would probably work great, they would be much more expensive than the packs of Numidian cavalry. I've seen the old Atilian Rough Riders go for $20+ for a single guy without horse on eBay.

As an update for those looking for something similar:
here is a Victrix Numidian Cavalrist on a Seraphon Cold one. Note that the legs are spread out far enough to fit pretty good, but the general posture of the rider does not fit perfectly. So either you would have to rearange the legs a bit or modify the saddle (I will try the later):

And here is a size comparison to a normal Cadian body. The Victrix dude is a little bit shorter and much slimmer but I personally think it would be within the size difference range that is normal for humans.
