Dark Horse had some great stories but they did tend to go overboard on the sadistic, sexual and graphic side.
Not sure if Marvel is the right studio for the job, but we shall see.

I think the big crux of it is if they've got writers and a desire to stick with its themes or if they want to go a totally new direction. For me the big risk is they start messing with it or they go the rout of "unofficial crossovers" that become popular enough that they focus on them.
That said Dark Horse already produced a huge bunch of comics for Alien. They've done well with ti and the earlier series does cover neat things like the War on Earth and the Alien homeworld.
If anything i'd welcome them revisiting those storylines and giving them a huge makeover of high detail art.

Marvel has in the past produced some grade A adult content. Punisher Max being one of the greatest standouts.
If they put in that kind of effort for alien and predator as ongoing adult series then we could all be in for a treat. Of course not all max series were good and like all comics its hit or miss depending on the writers.

My only concern is that Marvel tends to have a style and its nowhere near the high detail space opera styles of something like Metabarons or high fantasy art style of Requiem.

The first DH Aliens series (the black and white one) was the first TPB I bought and it was awesome. A few bits of obsolete tech aside it holds up today.
Basically set right after Aliens the xenomorphs break loose on Earth and kill millions. While Ripley, Hicks and Newt go looking for the race that brought them in the first place.

Combine the nihilist pseudophilosophy that ran through a lot of the DH series with Garth Ennis, I think you'd have hordes of impressionable nerds hacking at their wrists in the streets.
No wait, I'm wrong.
Marvel doesn't have the readership left to qualify for 'hordes'.

Marvels readership is fine. Relative to the whole comics industry they are doing about as good as they have ever done. The thing is all individual issue sales have bombed. Trade sales are up digital sales are sky rocketing.
Its bad news for week to week brick and mortar sales. But not particularly bad for the comics industry if they adapt to the new landscape and marvel has been adapting faster than most.
Marvel unl. Is a good ap. DC universe is struggling to keep up.

For comics, the DC Universe app is really good now. It gives access to almost everything in the catalog...it's not the highly limited, curated content it launched with.
The DCU shows however seem to be migrating to HBO Max and elsewhere.

Yes. To the entire comics industry. Marvel has seen the same drops and increases as everyone else. Marvel is not unique in individual issue sales plummeting. Ish on it being good. On not mobile devices the app can be a nightmare. The console version doesnt highlight what you are selecting as an example. It all has the same neon green boarder. So just logging in can be a major issue.
And yes, almost all the not comic content is being snatched up by HBO (Also owned by times warner).

Understood if you mean function. I thought you were talking comics content. It's improved a ton in that respect.
And yes, almost all the not comic content is being snatched up by HBO (Also owned by times warner).
HBO Max appears to be the new home for DC non-comics content. I just got an offer to add HBO Max to my DCU sub for $5/month to the end of 2020. Brings the combined price to $13, two bucks less than HBO Max alone. Definitely some test marketing going on there. I'm sure they would like to get a handle on how much DC fandom might drive subs.
Sorry...getting off-topic. How many superhero characters have crossed over with Aliens and Predator? I remember Batman/Aliens and Superman/Aliens. Think I remember Batman/Predator also. Have any of the Marvel heroes crossed paths with them in the past? Automatically Appended Next Post: AduroT wrote:I never finished Supes vs Aliens. Not from lack of interest from what I recall, just that I missed the later issues of it.
The concept was interesting...basically blending the Supergirl mythos with Aliens. Superman finds Argo City in space, dead and filled with xenomorphs and with Kara basically playing the last survivor/Newt role. They used it as a way to kinda/sorta briefly bring back Kara at a time post-Crisis when they were avoiding it. (Which was stupid, especially when they created alt-versions of Supergirl anyway.) Of course, S/A wasn't really in continuity, so it didn't matter anyway.

Here some marvel ones i would like to see.
Punisher vs pred.
Predators (a hunting party) vs hulk.
Pred vs daredevil
X-men vs aliens from wolverines perspective (all his friends dying.. him covered in acid and healing)
Magneto vs any of them.

However that means the Alien Queen is an "evil" queen and must be killed by the upcoming new princess chestburster (which going by the comics is actually not all that inaccurate as queens would fight each other).
The hero of the story is clearly the man impregnated with the chestbursting princess. His quest to ensure that she remains safe within his chest from the evil Alien Queen, until such time as she can hatch and consume the meat upon the hero. Giving his life for his princess so that she might live; to grow her own brood and lead them to victory over the evil queen!

Wolverine vs Predator, where it goes to rip Logan’s skull/spine out but can’t because of the unbreakable bones, and then he wakes back up/regenerates in its hand.
