I would be comfortable with KT remaining as it is. Importing stat changes and changing points is ok, but the core rules seem plenty solid for what it is, and doesn’t feel like it needs tampering.

I like the core rules too, but would absolutely love some sort of light vehicle rule additions. I know it has been discussed before how they cannot be brought into KT under existing 40K rules, but I'd love it if some new rules mechanics were brought into play which enabled including 0-2 light vehicles in a Kill Team. I also like the supression mechanic in the Horus Heresy KT edition, something like that along with automata would spice things up a bit.

Likely unpopular opinion, but the further away killteam is from big 40k, the better for killteam.
Both games share a similar setting, but they need to move far away from each other as much as possible.
The discussion about marines with 2 wounds is a perfect example. Those sorts of discussions bring in expectations from big 40k into killteam, when they dont necessarily have to be true.
The sole reason why I play killteam is because it is NOT 40k. Remove that distinction, and I'm just one more customer who can comfortably stay away from the "gw hobby" as an irrelevant piece of history best forgotten.
That said, I agree that killteam needs some work. I haven't seen anything about 9th edition which ,makes me beleive that they should be taking design cues from there and applying them to kill team though.

I don't think you're very much in the minority. I think a lot of people want Kill Team and 40K to stay unique, myself among them. I do think that GW has a history of using different games as testbeds for another. So I'm hopeful for Kill Team 2.0 (or whatever they will call it) to get some design cues from 9th edition 40K. We'll have to wait and see though I suppose.

Apparently another no-show for Kill Team on Saturday's preview, but Necromunda and Warcry are included.
Maybe this will be the last year for Kill Team...

I'm actually thinking if we see anything Kill Team, it will be under the auspice of 40k.
WarCry is considered its own 'thing' because it happens in an area that we don't explore for AoS: the Allpoints. Killteam seemed to be kinda/sorta a way of driving forward the lore that we saw after.

I'm sure most of us want Kill Team to retain its' uniqueness. But AFAIK GW wants to make transitioning from KT into 40K as simple as possible — if this is still their intention, I am confident the upcoming stats changes to datasheets and weapons in 40K will trickle down to KT as well.
I don't see this as a problem at all as long as every faction receives the stats changes (and the inevitable points adjustment required) simultaneously.

Yeah, I'm hoping that Kill Team will get some sort of reveal under the banner of 40K. Who knows though...
