After reading the thread on fixing the Super-Heavy Auxiliary Detachment, and seeing some masterfully painted centrepiece models I've started to come around to LoW and their place in the game both in function and form. As Sisters will more than likely be my second army after Necrons I was looking through their range and realised they don't have a LoW unique to them.

This is more of an aesthetic discussion on something that doesn't exist (yet?) so keep that in mind when you make your choice.
Personally I'm more partial to the traditional Main Battle Tank, with treads, as opposed to Knights or other walker types so something along the lines of a unique Baneblade or variation of the Legion Fellblade/Sicaran/Falchion seeing as how the Sisters already use the rhino chassis for their vehicles.

For sisters I'd like to see a baneblade hull with a massive cathedral atop it.

THey have the Penitent Engine, a Rhino Chassis tank, and a living saint type special character -

But they don't have a primarch, and turning a man sized gal into a LoW seems a bit much. So I'd say that's out.

I don't know if chaining a bunch of women into a giant penitent engine is the right kind of grimdark for a family game like 40K.

So I'd go with some sort of Super Heavy flaming melta tank.

Or a Super Heavy Flyer loaded with napalm.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.

First thing that came to my mind was a massive cathedral as well. A small monastery on treads?

My second thought is an even bigger model similar to the funeral procession they have. With dozens of drugged argo-flaggelants or enraged zealots?

This has potential. Imagine a Leviathan from Epic 40K. Scale it down to BladeSwordHammer Sized. Make it a chapel. Give it Guns for the Nuns. Flamestorm cannons from the Redeemer, the new tri barrelled Melta thing from the Speeder...

That sounds insane in a good way. The only Super Heavy flyer I can think of in the game right now are the Obelisk and Tesseract Vault (assuming you mean vehicle flyers).

Would be a nightmare to use in game though, trying to use a Baneblade on a flying stand

Frankly I'd just ramp Celestine up a bit. Not make a newer bigger one. Give her the umph of one of the Exalted Greater Demons. Perhaps allow different Saints for the different sisterhoods.

A super heavy tank does not fit the Sisters IMO. But hey you know what opinions are like.

I disagree TBH, a giant super sized mobile cathedral is PERFECTLY in suited with the character of sisters

Yes! With LOTS of heavy bolters/multi-meltas/heavy flamers. And a main gun that can be a super-sized version of those. More treads on the table is always a good thing.

Actually I was thinking at the center of the cathedral would be a giant organ that was basicly a super exorcist missle launcher

That would work as well. SisterSydney had a great thread on proposed SoB LOWs in the Proposed Rules forum a while back with proposed rules for LOWs just like this.

The drop-cathedral instantly sprang to mind for me as well. Let's face it, the new range already embraces the faction's awesome ridiculousness. Not only have the stained-glass tanks been revamped, we now have a bufftastic funeral procession and a flying pulpit, for Emperor's sake.
Whatever LoW unit they could have, needs to fit that theme of going all-in on the crazy, and just flinging a huge deployable cathedral at the battlefield is a perfect fit.

...that, or some kind of flyer that has massive banners and scrolls trailing behind it and Sisters strapped to its wings delivering sermons mid-flight.

They already have 3 different tanks (transport, transport/gunboat and gunboat), but only one walker which isn't even as tough as a dread, it's basically a killa kan. Yes, techincally there are 2 walkers but they are basically the same thing in stats.

I can't stand superheroes and huge models with human resemblance (who said Guilliman?), I think Celestine is already massive.

So big walker/knight it's my option.

A slightly smaller version of the superheavy they had in Epic in the =][= army list, which in turn is based on this art piece from the old Witch Hunter codex.

It is armed with a gigantic flamer. I built one for a friend years ago out of a small brass souvenir of St Paul's Cathedral he had and mounted an old inferno cannon on the dome of it. It was probably about 4" long so would be stupidly huge in 40k scale. If they could make something like that in a reasonable 40k scale (i.e. Baneblade sized) then they're onto a winner.

On moon miranda.

Personally, I don't really see a giant walker or massive battle tank as really being the thing for Sisters of Battle or the Ecclesiarchy, nor do I so much like the idea of a "Greater Living Saint" as an Imperial equivalent to something like a Bloodthirster or Keep of Secrets for a number of reasons.

I think something more along the lines of a mighty icon/mobile fortress, a tracked behemoth with a pulpit and icons (providing buffs to on board and nearby units and perhaps imposing debuffs on nearby enemy units from so imposing a citadel of the Emperor's Might), perhaps a more impressive perch for the likes of Celestine (enhancing a living saints abilities), riding atop a massive armored transport with gobs of anti-infantry weaponry and capabilities. Basically something in the range of 500pts to add to an existing 2k force that would amplify and enhance the existing units rather than being a massive powerhouse in and of itself. I think that'd be neat.

As soon as I read the title, I had a involuntary vision of a giant bipedal organ. I so hope they never do that, but ... at the same time ... I kind of hope they do that ...

With a Sister Superior playing it 50 feet off the ground ...

If you're wanting a mobile chapel/cathedral, the Leviathan is probably a better bet than a Baneblade as a base chassis - it'd be a wee bit big, though.

Not as bad as using a Capitol Imperialis, admittedly...
