I tried my measly spanish - the rule explanations semm really good. I have only read the general part and the lore of Light so far.
I noticed: The measurement and templates were switched to cm instead of inches. Specific reason for that?

I never got the idea why I should switch to cm, although I use the metric system everywhere else. It just didn't bother me, I know how long 8, 16, and 24 inches are roundabout, so problem there with guessing.

In 6th edition, all translated books (spanish) had measurements in cm. I think they went back to inches when doing all the spanglish garbage (mixing english and spanish in the same book, such a splendid idea).

dafuq really??? OK that is interesting! So for some reason, GW thought for rhe Spanish market they'd need measurements in cm, while for rhe rest of Europe inches were fine?
Incredible.
The Denglish crap happened here too starting in the end of 8th, Wood Elves is an infamous display of mixing up languages in an annoying way.

Yeah, that was quite jarring. Especially when compared with older editions.

Hello everyone! I'm excited, hoping to start playing WFB again after a long hiatus. I currently live in Indianapolis, Indiana and am willing to drive around central IN if it means finding a group to game with. I run either O&G or Wood Elves. Most familiar with 8th ed., but can be talked into others.

If you're up for 6th Ed. we have a small group starting up around Lafayette. Also check out www.classichammer.com to see us at the local store in action.

At least one other player of WFB 6th edition near me. So can get the occasional game in.

The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused.

Aye, I'm rather close to you if you need some games. Have about a 4ish player group around the area.

It's kind of hard not to do that in Warhammer because a lot of the language doesn't have a direct Spanish translation. Even the Spanish codexes are "spanglish". However, I think it's fine because all the Spanish speakers I've seen playing Warhammer speak enough English to read the Spanglish

Given your location says Rhine, I'm assuming that Dakka's just being its crazy self by giving you a New Zealand flag, but if not... which island?

Speaking of Dakka doing wonky stuff, I noticed that my location on the Player Finder was not showing up. I had to check once again in my profile to show my location on the Player Finder page. So for those who use the Player Finder, periodically check to see if your location is showing up. If you don't use the Player Finder function, then I encourage people to use it.

‘What Lorgar’s fanatics have not seen is that these gods are nothing compared to the power and the majesty of the Machine-God. Already, members of our growing cult are using the grace of the Omnissiah – the true Omnissiah, not Terra’s false prophet – to harness the might of the warp. Geller fields, warp missiles, void shields, all these things you are familiar with. But their underlying principles can be turned to so much more. Through novel exploitations of these technologies we will gain mastery first over the energies of the empyrean, then over the lesser entities, until finally the very gods themselves will bend the knee and recognise the supremacy of the Machine-God"
