If money were no obstacle in any way? I'd buy GW and make them write functional rules for my army.

I've just started a Ironjawz army for the New Year, New Army thing so that's a new army taken care off.
I would get enough terrain kits to build an 8ft tall 40k/Necromunda tower

I would get a pro painted Tau army. I love the models but the few times I’ve tried to paint them it came out horrible.

If money truly was no object? Like god mode levels?

1. Buy lots, lots, and lots of land that is all connected (a few dozen thousand miles enough?)
2. Spend several million on an Ultramarines legion force (includes allies).
3. Spend several million on a Word Bearers legion force (includes allies).
4. Spend probably a billion on terrain.
5. Spend the rest of my life trying to finish the battle of Calth.

Still stupidly expensive but feasible? 28mm Titanicus! Would be amazing to see not gonna lie.

Realistically? I’ve finally pulled the trigger on a Legio Cybernetica force, though its only the minimum with the leader, 3 castelax, and a converted kastelan, so I’d take anything related to the good ol stompy robots. But if I could have a new army, an infantry heavy Vostroyan IG army with gorgon transports and lots of static artillery has always been a fantasy of mine from a visual standpoint, but could never justify. With vostroyans being out it’s especially unfeasible. If they ever come out in plastic though....

Genestealer Cult would be the army I'd get. I like them a lot but I've never pulled the trigger.

For the "what 3 kits?" question I'd do three Shadowswords. I think they look super awesome. I guess I'd add them to my new GSC army.

If money were no object, I'd just collect what I liked the look of and be a pure collector.

At most, I'd only actually play Kill Team until the larger 40K game caught up.

I'd get a lot of deff dread and killa kan boxes, maybe some fw stuff and some random ork vehicle boxes. Also a gorkanaut or two, some sm dreads to loot and a load of plasticard, and then I'd go to town on building/converting a dread mob.

New Army? Warhound titan & retinue, pro-painted and assembled by someone else.

New Units? more breachers, metal vespids and another Riptide for my Tau force.

Terrain? Tau urban pieces.

Yeah, this. I already have a vast collection of orks and DG, and while I'd love to eventually start an army of Black Templars, the main thing holding me back is the need to paint all my models.

Outside of that, I'd probably would have an extendable dinner table made by a carpenter that is wide and long enough to double as a gaming table.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks do not think that purple makes them harder to see. They do think that camouflage does however, without knowing why.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Faced this situation in the form of GW gift certificates. Received a pile for the holidays a few years ago, added to the pile I already had it came to a few thousand dollars.

Bought a complete Thousand Sons army and a couple Knights. Used the Forgeworld ones to purchase some Contemptors.

Never painted any of the TS, sold off all the models this year. Dunno why, they just didn't seem as exciting as ones I bought myself.

Did paint the Knights. Have only used them in a couple games, mostly due to Covid.

Definitely 2500 points of Craftworld Eldar post 9th edition revamp, I have a feeling were going to get plastic aspect warriors and some new sculpts

For 3 units I’d grab an Ares Gunship, an Orion Assault Dropship, and the Contemptor Galatus Dreadnought from Forgeworld for my Custodes army

New army would be Word Bearers but only once I know whether CSM will get the primaris scale treatment or not. I wouldn't want to buy it all and then find the scale wrong after a couple years.

As for my space marines, I have a whole list of units I want at the moment and I'd buy that outright even though it would take months to build and paint.

40k: Space Marines (Rift Wardens) - 8050pts.
T9A: Vampire Covenants 2060pts.

Forge world soup army consisting of SoS, Custodes and automata heavy mechanicum.

Existing kits? Two titans, a reaver and a warhound to ally with my upcoming BA army, plus one of those fancy primaris mega hover tanks (Astraeus? was that the name?)

Tough question. I'd have to say either a large Blood Angels army focused on Sanguinary Guard and some Death Company. Maybe a Dark Angels Ravenwing/Deathwing army.

As for units/models for an army I own, I'd have to go with either 3 Forgefiends for my Alpha Legion or 3 squads of Vypers or War Walkers for my Craftworlds army.

I would buy another chaos space marines army I sold my original due to funding and no time to paint it fully if I could I would buy another 2500 points worth than get it pro painted in the livery of the black legion led my abaddon himself.

Excellent choice.

Spoiler:

It's not pro-painted (or completely painted) because I did it, but I completely understand. My favorite 40k army is my Black Legion one. I didn't play it as much in 8th edition because I was too cheap to get the revised codex and didn't keep all the other rules pamphlets together. By the time I updated to the new sculpts, I was lost on what rules I should have. I haven't even fielded Abbadon yet or ever. I managed to play a game with Haarken Worldclaimer and was waiting about 80 days to field Abbadon. The shut down happened before the 80 days were up.

I want to play the crap out of this army when I get the chance and have a new codex.

Honestly? Nothing. I'd rather have time to paint what I already have. Getting even more unpainted plastic would just stress me out - one of the things I'm happiest about hobby-wise in 2020 is that I've got my pile of shame down to just 30ish models, 20 of them a box of savage orruks.

I know some people pay to have someone else paint their plastic, but for me the painting is as much a part of the hobby as the playing, so I can't see myself ever doing that.

My $3,000+ USD 2,500 points Beastmen GSC army that I need 2 kits for every 1 unit and its a horde infantry army, so I need something like 50 boxes just for the Troops not counting the characters and other models I want in it.

Ok, if I really didn't care about the money involved I'd do an Emperor's Children force built entirely on female Stormcast Eternal models to serve as fire support for my Daemonettes. It would be gloriously wasteful.

The thought of having more models, free or otherwise makes me feel ill!

My late teens / early 20s I bought way too much 40k and now I'm paying the price.

I have 20k of Nids & GSC / 8k of Orks / 8k of Necrons / 4k of Deathguard / 4k of Krieg / 1k of Kroot and these are the armies I kept.

I've sold a considerable amount in the last 2 months of Eldar / Dark Eldar / Non Nurgle Chaos stuff / Dark Angels / Grey Knights / Tau
