The rivets are about 8 pixels wide and the striking face of the hammer is about 230 pixels across. If the rivets are about half a millimetre (pretty small for GW rivets, especially ones that crisp), that would translate into over half an inch, which is very big for a space marine weapon. The length from the hand to the top spikes is about 400 pixels, or nearly an inch with the same assumptions. Likewise, the brush strokes are consistent with a pretty big object. GW weapons are ridiculously oversized, but I think even they would hesitate to give a CSM something that big. I'm pretty sure it isn't a warpsmith, but rather something much bigger, like a daemon prince, daemon primarch, daemon engine, or greater daemon.

If would be really nice if it was in fact Perturabo with Forgebreaker. Though Blood Ravens stole it so it can't be that

Though, not sure if I see it being that big, data spikes limit its size and the 'core' of the hammer looks to be the same size as one held by Iron Priest if the hand size is roughly the same. Yes, 'crown' makes it look bigger but it's still 'big', not outlandish weapon. Of course if the wielder is bigger the hammer would be bigger too.

That's not Dark Mechanicus though...?

Dark Mechanicus is more about that biomechanical fusion of technology(including xenotech), organic life, and a touch of demonic thrown in for flavor in some cases.

Best way to think of it?
AdMech sees a tank as a perfect creation and humans as a flawed creation.
DarkMech sees them both as the perfect place to start cramming full of daemons, unproven tech, and sometimes a few limbs from somewhere else for a case of "WILL IT BLEND?!".

I don’t know what that is but I’m 50% certain it’s stormcasts.

The sword handle seems a bit nimble for Stormcast imho. Could be just the picture, though.

The whole thing looks too weedy for a stormcast sword. I'm tempted to say something human. But the ornateness and the fact the scabbard looks like bat wings folded over each other makes me thing vampires.

The heft of the sword (is it the heft? the thing between grip and edge...) looks a bit like lions and the sheath is somewhat ornate...
I'd go for elven stuff

The guard (generic term for any part of the sword that protects your hand), or quillions (specifically the parts which stick out sideways, AKA crossguard).
You're probably thinking of 'haft' (usually the wooden handle of an axe or polearm, but sometimes a synonym for 'hilt') or 'hilt' (all parts of the sword apart from the blade, usually consisting of a grip, guard, and pommel).

Thanks for the help.
I try to remember "hilt" and "crossguard" - heard them before, but these aren't words that find their way into my english conversations very often...

Heft, BTW is also a real word that means, roughly, the “feel of the weight” and applies to pretty much anything you can pick up. Root of “hefty” as in something with a lot of heft.

That said the scabbard looks wood elf ish, with a design like folded leaves.

It's a sword, actually. Also didn't we just get a big release of vampires?

Yeah but the scabbard could be bat wings rather than leaves and they are announcing new Warcry stuff - could be a Vamp war band for that system.

Speaking of, I do genuienly wonder if GW is ever going to release expansions for Curses City? I mean, on one hand, money. On the other, they would have to acknowledge it exists

Is there a vampire dynasty with some kind of lion/big cat iconography? Doubt that it's vamps tho, their blades are usually either rapiers or sabres, and this one looks more like a fantasy longsword humans or elves would have in AoS.

It's really baffling. They surely wouldn't lose money with expansions - yeah, I'm still super miffed at how badly they handled the release, but this wouldn't stop me from throwing €€€ their way for some more fun Cursed City minis/tiles.

And they'll be completely ignored, if GW even bothers doing one.

They’re doing seminars. And if they can’t or won’t answer such a question, they can’t or won’t. But I reckon it’s gonna be asked.
