Yes please. Mordheim-esque Cursed City supplement for Warcry with new factions (Order of Azyr, etc.) scenarios, and more involved campaigns.

Whilst I'm immensely grateful for the sculpts as they can just be kit bashed to my desires.... Mannnnn, these new cool witch hunter models are just making me super jealous of what they could do with the inquisition if they really wanted too in 40k. I've said before and I'll say it again, AoS is getting the best models produced currently.

How do you know they won't? I've noticed that in the community, a lot of people say "I want to see X, Y, Z" but seem to have no concept of the fact that 1 company cannot pump out every requested feature/faction/model in one huge load. These two new models are for Cities of Sigmar, which means that it's a safe bet COS aren't actually going anywhere and that the old "empire" faction is getting revamped at some point in the future. It takes time, really in some cases it might take years to get products to market.

It's not really about whether they will, it's what we will get in 40k when we do get it. Design for AoS seems to be a lot more suited to the 'grim dark' aesthetic when it comes to the new human models than what tends to come in 40k.

Additionally, I'm not actually moaning, I'm just making a point that they could if they were to make some exceptional inquisition models, but when we do get some, I think they will be more along the lines of Greyfax and Kyria Draxus which whilst they both have some nice design elements, as a sculpt overall, lack a fair bit of character in comparison.

Even the warcry models are steps above human based models for 40k. Necromunda sculpts provide some hope for what they could and might do, but that isn't the in house GW design team as I understand it, it's the forgeworld team.

Anyway, I'm not desperate for new models, but I do get jealous in regards to the design quality disparity between the two systems. 40k does seem to be just a cash cow, whilst AoS seems to be a genuine labour of love in regards to the models.

I'd still love to know a revenue breakdown for AoS in comparison to 40k, taking into account R&D spent on both... I still think 40k is funding AoS in parts.

Uh, what? Looks like she has the exact same shoulders as the rest of the range, just covered by cloth. Canoness even has similar cover, just unbuttoned...

Individual, movable shoulder pads are the exact same as a single rigid shoulder piece connected across the chest?

Sure...

I like how you cherrypicked literally single Sister unit that doesn't have that as an option, ignoring all these that do

Spoiler alert - cloth is not rigid and in fact does move/deform when you move your hands. Who could have guessed?

It's bloody astounding how you said "nooo all Sisters have those shoulderpads" and then proceeded to post a model that doesn't have those shoulderpads. Are you okay? Do you need help?

They’re talking about the black rigid shoulder pads, not the red cloth part.

I don't know about the revenue, but I can tell you that I just started actively playing AoS and the game is leaps and bounds more superior to 40K. I haven't been this energized in years for a wargame. I am finding that these characters and models are more to my liking, as are the rules which seem to be built on the idea of having fun, rather than thrashing puppies with your A++ level army list. The fantasy stories are actually interesting and unique in a great way.

I'm curious though as to what you mean? Kyria and Greyfax were fantastic models, or at least I thought so.

Yeah, a lot of these models are knocking it out of the park. My quibbles are minor and they're rather reasonable Fantasy Character Figures, regardless of warhammer.
Someone decided to ditch the McWarGubbins on every model and the results are looking good.

The last two Inquisitor miniatures that GW put out were both special characters and tied to campaign books. There seems to be very little interest at GW currently in the Inquisition as a faction. In fact, we know from statements they have made that the current powers that be at GW are of the opinion that Inquisition doesn't really belong on the battlefield.

Essentially they're in a not-quite-as-bad situation as Genestealer Cults during the Alan Merrit years - he didn't think GSC should be part of 40k, so they were removed (with only the most vague, oblique references remaining). He left the company, and boom, GSC show up not too long after.

So it'll take an attitude shift at GW to see the Inquisition make a real comeback.

That's Irbis in a nutshell: Storm into a thread to tell someone how wrong they are, and in the process be completely wrong about something.

It'd be comedic if it wasn't so sad.

Yeah, I agree. I haven't played 40k in years now (aside from a few games of 9th to try it out), and one of the big reasons is that the new models feel really soulless or are just resculpts of space marines that are in slightly different poses. AoS has some really awesome stuff coming out, and the miniatures are loaded with character. Other than the Bone Reapers (which are just really not my style) I have been super impressed with all the AoS stuff in the last few years. I don't play AoS proper, but I do play Warcry, and I can safely say the Warcry cultists are the most interesting human sculpts GW has put out in years. Nothing in 40k really gives me the same excitement. The three new Witch Hunters (these two and Darrok from cursed city) are hands down more characterful than the Greyfax and Draxus.

It would be nice if the 40k team put out some Ordo Hereticus bands with about half as much love as the AoS team put into these Witch Hunters. I know all three are going to have a place in my Witch Hunter Mordheim band.

I don't actively play AoS, but I have played a fair number of games with friend's armies and I can say the game is just hands down more fun than 40k. It plays quicker, the rules are more intuitive, there is a lot less flipping through rulebooks, and half of the armies just don't feel like variations on one another. Honestly if they made 40k more like AoS I would have a lot more interest in playing it (having an army and all that is just collecting dust).

Any bets on who or what we might see today?

I’m hoping it’ll be something for Destruction. Order, Death and Chaos have all had big reveals (well, if we count the Vampires as big reveals. I do, but you do you).

Maybe Kragnos is his full glory? I’m still assuming he’s Destruction of course.

And the important part of the article...

Just what plans do these powerful scions of Slaanesh have in store for the Mortal Realms? You’ll need to read Broken Realms: Kragnos to find out where they interweave with the Seraphon’s venerable Lord Kroak and a certain family of witch hunters.

I don't think GW will release another Slaanesh battletome this year.

Although it looks like Broken Realms: Kragnos is going to be much bigger release then expected.

Based on that pic I feel like the model team has been playing ALOT of Zelda Breath of the Wild, as Kragnos looks like a Lynel, and the the Slaaneshi mortals are good proxies for gerudo.

A new herald doesn't need a new tome though - they just have to take the finecast one off the shelf and put a plastic one up

And yeah I'm 100% not expecting another tome.

The Slaaneshi models remind me more of Lelith in the Diablo 4 trailer, when she was forming from the skin/blood web thing.
