I mean, firearms exist in AoS, and Ogres have been seen using them, so maybe one day.

Nah. AOS already has enough good looking orcs, it's time to 40K get some too.

Yeah, several factions in AoS have guns, it's just that Ogres are Destructions like Orks, and also wield firearms.

Plus, don't we have goblin sky pirates? They're only in the lore atm, but do they use guns? Or are they just goblins that steal Kharadron ships?

Not enough info - no real reason why they would not not - but keeping them in working order may be more difficult.

Here's an excerpt that features them. They do have guns and cannons, amongst other things:

Spoiler:
It was the image of a
ramshackle sky-ship, a claptrap construction of raw timber and plundered
resources. That it could keep itself aloft seemed an act of greater magic than
even he’d care to riskAcross the decks of the scrap-ship swarms of diminutive creatures
blundered about in a confusion of bullying antics that could only with the
greatest charity be considered as labour. The creatures were half the height
of a man, with wizened faces and long, gangly arms. Their skins were green
and leathery, their faces long and malicious with wide mouths and hooked
noses. They were arrayed in a wild costume of bright cloth and grubby
armour. Short swords and broad daggers were tucked into their belts,
bandoliers of pistols dripped across the chests of the largest.
‘I know these creatures,’ Khoram snarled. ‘Grots. Malicious kin of the
orruks. They look absurd but the weedy little monsters have a vindictive
cunning and a murderous sort of humour. Even for me their intentions are
difficult to predict with any great accuracy. Their minds are moved by
strange whims. At once they are capable of ferocious aggression and abject
cowardice. I have even seen them squander a victory because they were too
busy fighting among themselves.’
The image in the orb showed the motley array of weaponry that littered
the scrap-ship. Things that looked like crude bolt-throwers, others that
might be cannons, still other contraptions that looked like nothing so much
as the over-sized slingshot of a shepherd. Together it made for a
considerable if crude arsenal. The stacks of plunder carelessly strewn about
the decks left little question how the grots used that arsenal. The greenskinned creatures were pirates.

Man that Slaanesh model looks awesome. Too bad its broken realms bait. "Hey yeah, I know you just got that cool Battletome like 2 months ago, yeaaah....gotta buy some DLC to use newer new thing!" I guess AOS at least still has free rules on the product page, but I imagine theres extra in there you wont get otherwise.

I'm glad people are looking forward to these models and get something.

But for me its a big miss. I don't really see the point of the "web" thing. The KOS variants is solid already and IMO. Each to their own of course. I swear down the creatives have produced all manner of different sculpts and the big wigs rather then pick one or two seem to wana produce them all rather then move onto something else for other factions.

That's assuming that they would be "Hedonites" and that there isn't a potential Daemons of Chaos book coming for AoS...

Some of the consequences of Teclis and Kroak's actions may very well be that Daemons are able to manifest more easily than before. Endless Spells were a result of Nagash's great working being disrupted. Things might be heading for a Daemonic incursion. The Rules for Daemons in AoS seem to be less like WHFB(daemonic breaches can occur naturally, since there's some spots like the polar regions and Ulthuan that are basically giant tears in reality) and more like 40k, where breaches have to be forcibly opened from both sides.

New Orks with dubious fluff that are quite niche given there fairly Snakebites looking design. Not exactly sure what role these would serve when Boyz and Nobz exist. Sculpt looks fine I guess but I just don't see the point to them. Really not a fan of the name either. Also why can't we get some zogging plastic Tankbustas, Kommandos, and/or Deffkoptas?

The article mentions Hedonites multiple times. So yeah, no assumptions necessary
Nothing says regal power like a good set of horns, especially when they’re framed atop a head as unsettlingly beautiful as any the Dark Prince can provide. Whether you’re bellowing commands to a Hedonite host or whispering arcane words of power across a battlefield, it pays to have the rest of the Sybarites know who’s boss.

both also make excellent generals for the varied Hedonites of Slaanesh forces you can create.

The latter even has a link

The alternative, of course, is its DLC for the Belakor list in the Belakor book. Which... isn't any better.

S5, but 1 W and only 2 attacks? That's the only thing I get out of the context of 'While they’re not quite as durable as a Nob, they can certainly swing their choppas just as hard'

Do we care? Are we caring about specific roles for green bulky dudes with a smallish shooty thing and a biggish choppy thing? Surely like all good ork releases they will happily slide into a collection to be whatever the owner wants them to be

I think they're good for people like me who prefer updated models (even if the current boyz and nobz hold up pretty well). I like doing little 500+ point armies, but I'll hold off if the current kits are old and probably going to get updated in the near future. Like I won't buy Berserkers since WE are bound to get updated within a few years (though lets face it, boyz and berserker kits are way different in quality.)

As for updated tankbustas and kommandos, some rumor engines definitely look like they're teasing those kits. Though they could easily just be for more beast snaggas
(The warboss in mega armor with grot gunner shown in the initial video is too detailed for me to assume it's not getting a model eventually too. So we should be due some not feral orkz)

Yeah that was my first thought as well. No obvious ways the arms can be angled. Perhaps we'll be lucky and there will be one or two options for arms per body much like the ironjawz, but besides that they do look terribly monopose.

Here's hoping you can get at least 20 variants from a 10 model kit.

That will somehow cost more than the current Boyz kit, despite having fewer models and fewer options.

It's definitely a way for GW to try and make Ork players buy more kits given that they know we have 100+ boyz already built. Fairly sure its gonna be a troop choice, which dashes my hopes of the Nobz being moved over to Troops like I'd hoped. We'll have to see how they handle the pricing, since making them too expensive means that boyz will outdo them and making them too cheap makes boyz redundant. I hope at the very least this lets them look at Nobz again when it comes to making them more relevant as a unit (WS2+ or T5 would be nice).

But will look better. And as this will be a separate unit, like with marines, you will retain the option to buy the old crappy looking models that you can freely pose in variety of unnatural poses.

If you think that then you can keep buying them. I think most of them were outdated ten years ago.

My main love with the current ork range is the fact that the 7 or so "boyz" class of kit were extremely interchangeable. You wanted to give the basic ladz some Mad max flair? Sprinkle in some bitz from the biker boyz or even some of the drivers from various kits. You wanted an all helmeted force? Scrounge around and options are there.

I'm still holding out, but the amount of options with the kit are going to be a big make or break for me, will be the difference between buying one kit for fun of building vs three of each to build a force.

I still think Flashgitz and walkers are the epitome of ork kits, and it's purely because you can build near a dozen and have them all feel a bit different. And that's before the converting begins. (apologise for the rant, just my 2 cents)
