First off, I apologize, I have tried to trawl thru the main news thread on this, but havent had a lot of luck
I have a few questions as I go about porting 8th ed DG into 9th..
1. Under the army creation rules, under Infernal Jealousy, "you may only include one Lord of the Death Guard in each detachment in your army" l.. but the next line says "You may also have a Demon Prince in your detachment"... but under Demon Prince entry, he is a Lord of the Death Guard, so.. in a detachment, can you have both a Demon Prince and a Lord of Contagion? (I assumed that the 1st entry means you cannot have both a Lord of Contagion and a Lord of Virulence)
2. I spent a fair amount of time and cash sourcing enough Bubotic Axes to equip a unit of 7 death guard with 6 of them on troopers.. ditto with another squad of 7 getting enough plague knives to double up for 6 models. Now, I see in the codex, that I am boned... because you can now only have one of any given loadout per 5 guys. Is there enough rules lawyering to TRY to claim 1-5 = 1 loadout, 6-10 is a second.. cause I REALLY want to keep 7 strong squads, and try to avoid re-converting as many as guys as I can.. or having to repaint squad markings ("for every 5", tells my math nerd inside that it is range of 5, as opposed to rounded up to multiples of 5)
3. I saw this in the main thread, but maybe someone has any insight for a future FAQ release maybe.. Why the FRICKING HECK do Possessed still stay at 2 wounds when everyone else got the bump? I would have expected them to go to 3.. but that is not actually a question, its mainly whining

The FAQ for the DG codex removes the Lord of the Death Guard Keyword from the Daemon Prince.

You are not alone in this and there have been very long and heated threads about that topic. Personally I had hoped GW would errata these profiles (take a look at Terminators, too) because of feedback from the community. But they didn't so I'm afraid we're stuck with that aweful ruling for the next 3+ years.

Well the Possessed "thing" is now better movement, better strength, more attacks, and an invuln save on a relatively cheap infantry unit. If you gave them a 3rd wound they might as well be terminators.
I was more annoyed at their being blocked out of Rhinos now but YMMV.

Not riding in Rhinos is a Terminator sized model thing though. If they have the same restrictions as Terminators, then they should have the same number of wounds.

Why? Possessed aren't the only units that didnt received a third wound but "should had" like Wulfen or Sanguinary guard.
And TBH I see those units as fine having 2 wounds. The problem is that for example bladeguard veterans have no thematic reason to have 3 wounds.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

As mentioned, GW removed Lord of the Death Guard keyword from the Death Guard Daemon Price entry in the FAQ. You may now have a Lord of the Death Guard (either Death Guard Chaos Lord, Lord of Contagion, or Lord of Virulence) and a Death Guard Daemon Prince in the same detachment.

There is no workaround. It is 1 of each option unless you have 10 models in the unit (aka 2 sets of 5). GW decided they don't care about Nurgle's Sacred Number any longer. They also seem to have decided they don't want to even give the option of fielding a this unit in a way that can't be constructed from the kit as sold.
3. I saw this in the main thread, but maybe someone has any insight for a future FAQ release maybe.. Why the FRICKING HECK do Possessed still stay at 2 wounds when everyone else got the bump? I would have expected them to go to 3.. but that is not actually a question, its mainly whining
It's pretty simple. Power armor models have 2 wounds. Terminator armor models have 3 wounds. Possessed have power armor so 2 wounds. They are also now Death Guard and have T5 and Disgustingly Resilient. I think they did pretty good overall.

There is a small workaround, in that you can have an additional axe wielder provided he also has a mace. Why? Because its in the instructions for the unit box.

1. The latest FAQ allows you to bring a DP and a Lord now.
2. Just bring your models, and inform your player they are all one uniform loadout which is legal. Like say they are all bolter and one plague knife marines. I think very few players will mind as long as its all one legal uniform loadout like the one I said. If they do mind, then don't play with them anymore. Because then they are just being overly picky about it.
