That's a sick battle axe, Freya.

Here's my proof pic. I've only managed to cut it off the sprue and clean up the mold lines. But,
Why walk when you can ride on a Warp Lightning Cannon? Certainty of death, small chance of success, what are we waiting for?

So you've decided to start a Skaven army, then?

Now showing The Fellowship of the Ring, along with some Dreadball Captains!

Painting total as of 4/13/2024: 31 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain

Painting total for 2023: 79 plus 28 Battlemechs and a Dragon-Balrog

Yes, AoS. It’s my first model so far. I don’t know how it plays. I like fantasy, so I’m sure I’ll be into it. Plus, who wouldn’t like painting a whole army of crazed, slathering battle rats?
Probably a lot of people, really.

Another day, another couple of stencils

This time some English safety markings. I just need to add some red blast warning triangles And I think the top side is done. Unfortunately doing the rescue stencil damaged the thing that was there already. Oh well, I was planning on doing some Weathering, so I’ll just conceal it under a bit of sponged chips.

Still not sure what to do with the thruster pods...

So, I forgot to mention the plan here... Basically, I'm going for a Rav'nwing style paint job - so lots of black. In fact, I was a bit concerned he would end up too much black - and looking at how GW paints Goffs, that basically means checks to break up the black - until I did all the straps in brown leather... I think he'll turn out fine without checks...

A fair bit of metal chipping and some rusty metal areas would go a long way as well.

I just dug my models outta my giant Reaper Bones box. So.... Progress!

Please excuse the crap pic. Still figuring out this tablet.

Made a start today on what is likely to be a tests scheme for my Nighthaunt army. Trying to make it fluffy by saying they're in the realm of Chamon (I know they're from Shyish, but maybe they're summoned there?) so have a metallic, oily sheen to their ethereal parts.

Nice work on the rainbow sheen effect. Of course, they are not in Shyish because they... travelled in style!

Thanks chaps! @Flinty - Sadly I can't claim praise for the nose art. Tis merely a decal

@Tyranid - I love what you're doing with that Nighthaunt - the colour choice and style is so vibrant

Ok, so I actually found a bit of motivation to make some progress this month, so here's my proof picture and the progress:

Appreciate that the middle leman russ has a little bit of white on the hatch in addition to the base coat, so happy to take that one out if it's too far along?

Now that's a fun and diverse round! Started painting my woodland critters. With oils! The right one is mostly done, so I guess I'll need to wait for it to dry and then slather it with matte varnish to get rid of the shine? Might pick out some more details / do more washes afterwards but wanted to try out how oil paints work for blending on larger organic surfaces.

@SlaveToDorkness: Yup, a fair bit of metal chipping and some rusty metal areas will go a long way - but closer to the end.

Start getting the Chaos Black base in, starting to come together...

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.
