Talking about the raised neck guard.. wouldn't it attract all the water, rubble and dirt on the battlefield?
I started thinking about it and now I can't let the idea out of my head, helmetless Tacticus & Gravis armour wearing brothers drowning in their own armour during monsoon rains
Am I wrong?
Guess it's nice for Space Wolves.. they can fill their neck guards with beer. Someone needs to model this!

Debris will get caught in it, yes. However, I don't think it goes high enough to be a breathing threat... Lots of the models have a cutout at the front anyway.

Better than the exposed throat of Mk.8 armour attracting bullets and lasbolts.
....Also, I believe marines can breath underwater if it ever became relevant.

They can just drink that rainwater. Or bend over 90 degrees for a second (assuming the planet they're on has gravity, hence the rain 'falling' on them). Having said, it would be largely impractical/unnecessary to make the armor water tight to the degree you're assuming, so it probably has some means of drainage that isn't depicted on the model like crispy78 mentioned.

Well the armour is already airtight, so watertight is probably not too much of a stretch

not just airtight, but vacuum-rated, able to withstand hard vacuum, so, yhea, it wont care about a little bit of water.
and, i also assume that it has some form of drainage ability, like, for example, the marine wearing it just bending forwards. After all, its a suit, not a statue. he can just move into a postion that allows postural drainage if needed, even if the suit doesnt already have a way of draining that area

To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

Debris is probably more of a problem... dust and goo getting caught in the neck ring, gumming up the works.

What do you think all those acolytes, servitors, servo-skulls and cherubs that hang around Space Marines are for?

But of course! You solved it for me. Now my immersion doesn't break anymore. Better model some extra servoskulls with long straws to fit the lore better.
And I know marines could just bend a bit to shrug off the excess water, but I'm talking heavy monsoon rain scenario here.. you'd have to be shaking like james brown, not ideal in hand to hand combat situations

Also, they can just close top helmet cover, presto, no more problems with dust or rain. Yup, I agree, it's like the OP never actually saw primaris model, if anything it's the custodes who would have problems with rain (still nothing major though)...

That's right, I've never seen a Primaris model Or have I? Maybe I just painted one again and this thought came to me while painting it..
Still think it's about as silly a design as the insanely low clearings on the akirabikes. You're free to have differing opinions. I'm going to model one "walking aquarium" piece just for the lulz anyway, got plenty of redundant monopose intercessors left over from Dark Imperium

You're only allowed to do that if you go full resin with fish included

I was thinking of using water fx resin for it yes.. but where can I get small enough fish bits for it?
I was thinking to replace the bolt rifle with a toothbrush myself, but haven't found a suitable toothbrush looking bit yet

Hmmm. It’s small Enough scale if
You cut out some triangles and paint them bright colours like Angelfish? I think pre-made and painted fish might be too much to ask.

I mean it just depends on which you consider to be a bigger nuisance; water on your neck or a bolter round in your neck.
