Hello everyone, as I currently am wrapping up my Tank heavy Raptors force utilizing Iron Hands rules I'm looking at expanding my overall collection, this time building a list themed after a Salamanders Gravis Heavy force. Idea behind this Army is to field as much Fire and Melta Weaponry as possible while marching up the table burning everything in my way. First attempt at a list like this so any and all feedback is welcomed, thanks guys!

Do you plan to camp with the heavy intercessors? If not maybe the assault version would be better. You may be a little eradicator heavy. 10 eradicators should be horrible enough. But they are also vulnerable to assault or deepstrike shenanigans. Idk man it looks super cool but 3 apothecarys is 2 too many. You could swap the 2 apothecarys for another unti or different type of character. I love the gravis army stuff but the weakness is the model count.

I partially disagree with the criticism made, personally. I like the idea of using three Apothecaries to keep the heavy units alive, and I think it will look cool. My problem is the lack of mobility which I think will serve an overall weakness in securing objectives. I think dropping 2 Aggressors and 3 Eradicators would open yourself up to take a couple attack bikes. That early mobility might let you score a few early points, or contest something, or at least draw fire away from your main forces allowing you to maneuver them into a stronger midgame position with more confidence.

I see what your saying. But 100+ points of extra apothecarys gets you a unit of heavy intercessors. The third squad of eradicators gets you a squad of inceptors or whatever floats your boat. Im a fan of dropping inceptors from deepstrike.

Then again 30 melta shots is a bit overwhelming to most armies. Do whatever you want. Its a cool list!

In the nicest way I can possibly say this, **** this list. You're not even attempting to play the missions. Your games will go 1 of 2 ways.

1) Sufficient terrain on board. You lose.

2) Not enough terrain on board. You table your opponent in turn 2/3.

This is an absolutely zero skill list.

Yeah but maybe that's the kind of list he wants to play? Testing skill is fine but it's gaming, it should serve the purposes of our play first and foremost. I think some more mobility would make it more flexible with terrain, then again melta guns hate distance so terrain could work to advantage using the right tactics.

He could increase the number of troops by changing up the Apothecaries. But it seems like it's a core theme. Further it seems like a fun theme, choosing to boost the Gravis resiliency with healing. Doubling down on the thematic focus.

I mean, a good response might answer how to incorporate Gravis Armour as a thematic focus and still have tactical opportunities too. Are Inceptors or Interceptors technically Gravis?

This list has 32 models. Eradicators die easy in close combat and its not like 5 melta shots can stop 15 death co on the charge. Hes moving 5 inches per turn and half his models cant shoot further than 12”. Any army that can tag the eradicators and heavy intercessors, and stay 13 inches away from the aggressors will be fine. This list has no deepstrike or movement past 5”. Hes got 5 models that shoot past 24”. This list isnt scary. At all. Unless you are custodes.

its one of those lists where you either run into an army that youll win against, or youll get murdered by.
