Love the look of the ruleset (especially the unit cards!) and have been busily getting my marines sorted for the 30k version.

Hoping there will be some kind of events this year (perhaps Horus Heresy setting?) using these rules

I'm slowly getting started on reading the main rules, this seems like a possible fun alternative to the stricter EA games when one wants to field all the models.

Hi nice to meet you. Peter and I are creating this.
Everything ever made for epic and 40k will be listed with rules made.
Eldar and Ork armies are being done first since they can be used in both eras.
Orks will be out in a couple of weeks and have over 125 stat lines of Leaders infantry and vehicles.
Eldar, Dark Eldar, Harlequins, Corsairs and Exodites are to follow.

Imperials are being written up currently.
Then the rest of the 40k armies.

Great to hear that. I guess one big challenge would be to update the Titan rules for the other races to keep on par with the Adeptus Titanicus expansion for Imperial Titans. I wish GW would hurry up and do xenos expansions for AT already.

The titans are all done. Every legacy weapon plus the new AT ones have rules.

Yes that was my thought too.

The D10 system is a good idea as it allows a greater gradient of rules.

But still with the Space Marine/NetEpic ordering system giving you more the feel of a general high-up trying to anticipate enemy movements, which I love at this scale.

I think it's also the most 'complete' Heresy-era rules version as well, as it's been recently based on the FW book unit designations.

For anyone familiar, is there a very quick summary over how the Orks in ID differ from their representation in NetEpic? I take it are they referenced from more contemporary 40k sources?

Hi!

I hadn't thought of doing such a summary. The differences in game terms are quite profound, as well as the formation make up and how they work.

As with everything in ID, armies work as players imagine they would according lore.

1. Orks now are rewarded when being on move racing to engage. In previous epic system, orks were an army at a disadvantage, due to low weapon ranges, being forced into formations or coherency that made them hard to move without being pounded to pieces in the process. In ID they excel and at their best on charge orders. The ability for their infantry to have the assault ability (eliminating to hit modifiers due to this order), means they can move at full speed and still be effective when shooting. Orks can now actually behave like the green tide they are racing forth shooting as they go before they close with the enemy.

2. Ork "character" without being crippled. We all love the flavor of the orks and their unpredictable nature, however the rules made to reflect this often were to extreme or could yield results were they would be crippled or even lose the battle on a bad roll. We included such rules to make orks fun and unpredictable, but with an equal amount of gain versus risk as well as being proportional. Sure your ork gun may malfunction or explode, but it could also pour out extra "dakka" ot make the formation extra shooty. Orks will feel like orks, but you can weigh and achieve benefit or not in equal measure, although you can never predict when each will befall you.

3. Waargh! ID also provides a mechanism to represent the overall energy the orks can manifest during a battle. The more success you achieve the more this positive Waargh! you can obtain, or the contrary if your boyz aren't orky enough in this regard.

These 3 are some and not all the differences, the best picture can be obtained by downloading the army book and cards and giving it a go.
